I hope someday you realize

That before you were who you are now

I loved you

I adored you

You.

Not the star

Not the image

Just you.

I see the roles you feel you must play

I see the masks you put on everyday

And the image you show the world

I don't want that

I know who you are inside

I've known all along

And I've adored you.

Your darkness, your tortured soul

The version you expertly hide for the world

I see through it all

I will write about you

I will write until the words fail to come

Because writing stops the tears from falling

I will tell our story

But not to the world

I will keep it inside

Like you.

I asked nothing from you

Just you.

But that was something you couldn't give

I gave it all.

My heart

My soul

My pride

I tore down these walls

And let you in

But, just like before...

You and I can never be.

Maybe in a different life.

A different world.

A different time.

SO, I'll write.

To block the pain.

To keep the tears in their place.

I will write...
