Separation

   *Home*

For the past month, everyone ignored each other. They would just gaze at each other, without saying a word. Especially Sergio. He's the one that likes to start conversations. I feel kind of lonely. I tried to talk to them but they always grunted at me.

I went to the kitchen to see they were actually talking to each other, but in a weird way. Their speech had no emotion and they always fought. Natalie always cried for some weird reason. Jernee keeps falling. Mikaela is Mikaela, annoying as ever. Sergio drinks a lot more. Kalia is finally back but can't even talk. I'm the only "sane" person here.

Today just seemed "normal". Sergio got up from the table and walked into his room. I walked up to Kalia and grabbed her hand. We went into her room t have a serious talk.

"I'm about to go insane. Why is everyone asking me about this?," I asked.

Kalia went to her desk and grabbed her notepad. She began to write down her thoughts. "I don't know. I just wish I could talk to everyone so I could know what was happening. They don't pay attention to what I'm writing."

"I sometimes hear them having a conversation when I go to my room, like they don't want me to hear what they are talking about." I paced around the room, trying to think what could be happening.

"Could be personal matters. If that was the case, I would stay out of it," she wrote. She put her notepad down and walked out of the room. Looks more that just personal matters.

   *1 week later*

I sat at my desk, writing down what's been happening each day. It just gets worse and worse. Sergio walked into the room, spelling like alcohol.

"Sergio, please talk to me. I'm really worried," I said.

He took a deep breathe. I could tell I was being annoying. "Remember that woman you met when you first got here?"

"Yeah, what about her?" I asked.

"Her children won't give her anymore money. I've lost my job. We can't afford to live in this house much longer." He began to wipe his face. Tears ran down his face.

"Then why ignore me. You know I have money."

"We didn't want to drag you into this. This is your first time here. Believe it or not we've been living here for the past 3 years. The only reason we've been able to live here is because that woman's been paying for rent," he explained.

"When is the deadline? I could go pay right now," I ran to the door. Sergio grabbed my hand.

"You don't understand. Some of us want to leave. They can't stand living with us," he said.

"Do you want to leave?," I asked. He nodded. Not surprised. If I lived  in the same house with the same people for 3 years, I'd probably go insane.

"Look, we all have our dreams. It's time we get out of the house, forever. Hopefully never see each other again," he said. He got up and pulled the sheets over him. How could he say such a thing? "Anyways, we were all planning to go to a restaurant. Since we will never see each other again. "

I didn't know what to say. "Okay, I'll go."

   *Nighttime*

We all sat at the table, looking at the menu. Kalia, who sat across from me, kept kicking my leg. I cleared my throat to get her attention. She kept looking at the menu, ignoring me.

"So much cuisines. I'm going to get the spiciest one," Sergio said.

"Sounds good. Try not to drink a lot, you might get us into a crash," Natalie giggled.

"I'm going straight for dessert," Jernee said.

"I'm getting this sandwich since I'm on a diet," Mikaela said.

"You diet? Since when?," Jernee asked.

   "For my boyfriend," Mikaela answered.

"Good for you! My boyfriend left me for some cunt. If I ever find that woman I'm going to smash her head," yelled Jernee. Mikaela widened her eyes and searched through the menu again.

   *couple minutes later*

"Sergio! Calm down. There are plenty of beer in this place. No need to drink that fast," I said.

"You would't understand," Sergio giggled. "You know. . . if there's a chance that we all meet, we need to do something."

   "Like what," I said.

"Time Capsule?," he suggested. Everyone got very excited and squealed. Sergio's face started to turn red. He's drinking too much.

"We should go home before he starts flirting with someone. Kalia, can you drive us home?," Mikaela asked.

"I'm fucking fine. Don't worry. Just take me to the car," Sergio demanded. We payed for our meal and walked to the car.

Sergio put in the keys and drove. Everyone stood silent. All I could hear was Sergio's heavy breathing.

"Anyways, about the time capsule. We should all write letters and place it in a jar along with something precious of ours. A couple of years later, we'll open it," he said.

"What happens after that? We just never meet again?," Natalie asked?

"Let's hope that's not the case," Sergio turned around and grabbed the backpack from the backseat. He opened the backpack and looked through it. "It should be in-"

"Sergio! Look out!," I yelled. The car ran into a truck. The truck exploded and put the car on fire. All I could see was smoke. Everyone was dead or knocked out. I couldn't tell. Kalia, who sat right next to me, was coughing. "Are you okay?"

   She nodded. "I. . . . think. . ."

I could barely hear her voice. I guess she was trying to talk. I grabbed her hand tightly and looked into her eyes. "It's going to be alright. We'll make it out of this. I promise." I could feel my tears running down my face. The tears fell onto our hands. "I just wanted to say I-" The car exploded. I felt the fire cover our bodies. Everything started to get darker. Was this death?

I opened my eyes, and saw the ceiling. It was a familiar ceiling. I've been here before.

"Glad you're awake," a voice called. I heard footsteps going towards me. Was this the hospital? I see a handsome face, looking into my eyes. My vision started to clear. It was Sergio.

   "Where am I?," I asked.

"Home of course. You were heating up so I was really worried. Did you-," I ran up to him and hugged him.

   "I'm just glad you're alright," I cried.

Natalie walked into the room. "Hey Sergio, can you- what the fuck is happening here," she held a bunch of papers. I could see her squeezing the papers tightly.

"What?! It's not what it looks like," Sergio explained.

"Fine! I never needed your help in the first place," she cried. She threw the papers onto the ground and ran out the room.

I'm glad it was all a dream.

"Oh umm, are you going to let go now?," Sergio asked.

"Oh yeah sorry. I was just really happy," I said. He grasped my face and leaned closer. I could see him leaning in for a kiss. Our lips met.

I woke up in bed, looking at the ceiling.

"Aww, for fuck sakes," I yelled.

"Are you alright?," Sergio ran over to me, looking worried.
