"Shh, sweetie, it's just a storm." Amber comforts the whining puppy, staring out the window. The rain slaps against the glass, and lightning speeds across the dark sky, accompanied by booming thunder.
She stands up and walks into the kitchen, taking ice water out of the refrigerator. The puppy follows at her heels, but runs into the end table next to the couch. It causes a picture frame to tip over.
Amber sleek black picture frame and looks at the photo inside. There stands her and Rebecca, with their parents. It was before they had separated, and Amber moved to England. Rebecca and Amber were on each side of their mother, holding her hands. "She doesn't know." She suddenly whispered.
Amber and her mother haven't talked since she moved. When her parents split, Rebecca changed to her mother's last name, and Amber kept her father's. That's where it ended. It was short and brutal, almost nightmare-ish, in Amber's opinion.
"Ugh." Amber jumps at the sound that echoes from the staircase, nearly dropping the picture as she places it back on the table. Rebecca comes running down, her hand covering her mouth. Amber quickly moves out of the way of the bathroom. Rebecca closes the door behind her.
"This is going to be a long nine months." Amber mutters, shaking her head. "But in the end, it'll be worth it." She says, smiling at the yawning kitten on her living room floor.
Rebecca sighs as she walks out of the bathroom. "Could you give me a key for the bathroom upstairs? It's locked. I almost didn't make it to this one."
"Uh, sure. If I can find it." Rebecca nods at her sister and walks back up the stairs. Amber picks up the tiny animals and starts to follow. "Alright, I'm going to sleep in my own bed tonight."
She sets them down carefully on the other side of her large bed, and lays on her side. The puppy whines in protest, and crawls closer to her. "Ugh. Fine."

"Amber! Paul is on the phone!" Rebecca yells from the bottom of the stairs.
"I'll be down in a second!" Amber calls, taking her hair out of the braid she had hastily put in the night before. She starts rushing out of the room, but remembers the cat and dog on her bed. Se scoops them up into her arms and runs down the stairs, tripping on the last step.
"Aye!" She squeals, but holds on to the terrified looking cat. The puppy jumps out her arms and runs to Rebecca.
"Oh, that was just my little sister falling down the stairs." Rebecca laughs into the phone. She cringes when someone yells from the other end. "Tell George she's alright, will you? She's not as fragile as he thinks."
"Thank you for helping me up, Becca." Amber groans sarcastically, standing up.
"Oh, you're very welcome." She smiles widely.
Amber takes the phone from her sister, and puts it next to her ear. "Hello."
"Ah, there she is!" John says. All four of them must be crowded around the phone.
"We have some great news!" Paul sounds ecstatic.
"And I'm sure you're going to love it!" Ringo adds.
"George loves it." John laughs.
"Well, what is it?" Amber asks, impatient.
"Hmm, we can't tell you." John says, and Amber can hear the smile in his voice.
"Please?" She begs, making a pouty face even though they can't see her.
"Can you tell me, at least?" Rebecca asks.
"No. Not a word." Ringo laughs.
"Come over today." George finally says something. "Bring the other girls, as well."
"Uh, alright then." Amber grins through her confusion. No longer impatient, having heard George's voice.
"We'll get a car to come get you." Paul yells before hanging up.
"I better get dressed then." Amber places the kitten that's still in her arms next to the puppy on the floor. "And you too, Becca. They want us all there."
Rebecca smiles, rather smugly. "I know." Then she looks down at her stomach, frowning. "Do you think I should tell them yet?"
Amber looks at the ceiling, thinking. "Maybe. But wait for the right moment. Wait until you know you should tell them." She hooks her elbow with her sister's. "Just know, I'm supporting you the whole way. That kid's got a bit of me, too."
"That's right, isn't it? Better not be your attitude." Becca mutters. Amber elbows her in the ribs. "Hey, watch it." She snarls, "you can't do that anymore, got it?"
Amber sighs. "This is going to take some getting used to."
They hook elbows once more, and walk up the stairs together. Or at least try. Halfway up Rebecca separates, sure she's going to fall. Amber walks into her room, and opens her full closet.
"Hey, Becca! Purple or black? Jeans or a dress?"
"I'm wearing jeans, so you better wear a dress!" She answers. "And purple. I like purple."
"Whatever you say, Rebecca." Amber takes a purple dress out of her closet. It's not too fancy, but a little bit.
"Ready?" Her sister walks into her room, braiding her hair down the side.
"I think so." Amber sighs, smiling at her reflection in the mirror.
"Just in time." Rebecca looks out the window, at the car waiting in the drive. Marilyn steps out, and walks to the door, knocking.
"Come on!" Amber takes her sister's hand and quickly goes down the stairs. They meet Marilyn at the door.
"Do you know what's going on?" She asks them, wrinkling her eyebrows together.
"Not a clue. They wouldn't tell us anything." Rebecca rolls her eyes, smiling.
"Kim's already in the car." Marilyn says, opening the door. Kimberly looks a mix of excited and nervous.
"Hey! Any idea what's-"
"Nope." Mari and Amber say at the same time.
"Oh." She slumps back in her seat. "Did you talk to them, at all?"
Amber nods her head. "Yeah. All four. They sounded excited, and said they had good news."
"But 'good news' could mean a lot of things." Marilyn takes a deep breath, frustrated.
"George sounded happy. I trust his opinion." Amber says flatly.
"Of course you do." Kimberly smiles, poking her shoulder. "He's yours."
"Paul told me you kissed." Marilyn grins, teasing her.
"Yeah, we did kiss." Amber blushes.
"Be careful, young lady." Rebecca points out her finger. "It your not, you'll end up like me."
Amber wrinkles her nose. "Grumpy and mean?"
"Don't even start." Rebecca slides down into her seat, defeated.
"I'm just kidding, Becca." Amber laughs, patting her sister in the shoulder.
"Look! We're here!" Marilyn jumps in her seat, painting out the window at the large house that belongs to the Beatles.
"We'll, time to find out our good news." Amber mumbles, but she's just as excited as the others.
