ZEFF'S POV
There were those eyes again. Those slick, dark, bright, scary, and honest eyes. Maddy's eyes. I looked deep into her eyes. Her eyes seemed like she could read every single one of my thoughts and it made me nervous. Her arms were behind her back, eyes looked tired, and her lips were red from biting probably nervously.
"HANDS UP!" I hear a yell. I turn around quickly, pulling my gun out, and pointing it. It was Anna's back up group. I sighed and put the gun down.
"Clean up here." I tell them and they nod their head. I kneel down in front of Maddy and smile at her. "What a small world right Maddy?"
"Right." SHe nodded her head. "Can you untie me?"
"Yeah." I nod my head as she struggles to turn around. I untied her arms and she rubbed her red wrists.
"THank you." She says calmly. "I don't know what would have happened without you."
"Yeah, glad you know." I nod my head.
"Yeah, thanks for stopping me." She says.
"Wait what?" I look at her and she only smiles.
"I think I should go." She says and gets up. She almost walked out on me but I grabbed her wrists. She cringed a bit at the soreness from the ropes.
"Ah sorry, I think the people want to interview you." I say and she nods her head. I lead her to the group of people talking as some people help release all the people in tears inside the cages. Maddy seemed nervous as she kept watch of her surroundings. I couldn't blame her, any normal human being would be nervous if they saw this.
"How long were you in there?" I ask her as she looks around.
"Not long." She says, and eyes everyone. It looked like she could read everyone so easily.
"Well lucky you." I say and stop in front of one of the agents. "Dames, this is Maddy."
Dames turned to us from talking to the lady and he looked at Maddy head to toe. He raises an eyebrow but turns to me.
"Dames." He says and she nods her head.
I eye Dames and he nods his head.
"Maddy can you go over there? I'll get to you soon. " Dames says and Maddy leaves. I watch her go and sit down, leaning on the wall. "So what about her?"
"You're not going to interview her? " I ask. "She says she's only not been there long."
"Wait, she hasn't been in there long?" Dames looks at me strangely and I nod. "It's not like the underground auctionist to get someone in a short time. It's different from the cases we've had with this problem."
"Exactly!" I say as he begins to walk towards Maddy. "Listen, what if she's like someone really spec-"
"Shut up for a minute." Dames snaps. "Get her background information. I'll do the questioning."
We helped her up and lead her outside to the cars, and let her sit in one of the vans. Dames had a note pad and pencil.
"Name. First and last." Dames says as she looks at me.
"Amanda....Hart." She says slowly.
"Age."
"Seventeen."
"Parent name."
"........None."
"Mother?"
"No."
"Dad?"
"No."
"Your address."
"Don't remember."
"Your city."
"Don't know."
"school."
"What's scho-. I don't know."
"Are you playing with me right now?" Darmes blows up, tossing his notebook on the ground with the pen.
"I really don't remember." Maddy says. "Just let me go."
"Where would you go then?" Darmes asks. "To your home that you REMEMBER?"
"Away from you that's for sure." She says, her eyes getting angry. "Also, I DID NOT sell my body off if that's what you're thinking."
"What?" Darmes looks shocked. "How..."
"What are you talking about?" I ask, so confused about the randomness that had in it. "Hurry it up Dames."
"You do it." He says and leaves the van, heading into the auction in some form of embarrassment. I pick up the pencil and notebook and sit next to her.
"Do you really not remember anything?" I ask, looking into her eyes. She nods her head. "For sure. You're not lying to me."
"I said I don't remember, what's more?" She asks. She was stubborn. She was pretty. Her light eyelashes were like paintbrushes, her bluish green eyes was soft, her long hair was tied back, and her clothes didn't seem from around here unless there was some kind of new fashion around.
"How do you plan on getting back home then?" I ask. "You don't remember anything."
"I'll just live anywhere." She says. "I could just sleep in the allies or something."
"The streets are dangerous at night." I say. The streets were dangerous for a girl that looked like her-or any girl in general at night time. Everyone would target her. THe thought of someone trying to harm her made me angry for some reason but I let it slide. "You're going to die out there."
"No I won't." SHe shakes her head, giving me the 'you're so dumb' look.
"It's cold out there." I say, what was I trying to say? "Also, you'll get hungry."
"It's okay." She says and looks outside.
"Just come to my place." I say quickly. She doesn't turn her head to me, but her eyes move from outside to me. "You can stay in my place until you get your memories back. I don't want you out there."
"I'm not trying to be rude, but why?" She asks.
"Because if something happened to you, I would feel bad." I say. "Besides, we already met once in the mountains. Do you have your phone? We should call your parents on your contact or anything."
"What's a pho-. No I don't have a phone." She says and shakes her head.
Uhg, what am I going to do with her? If I take her home with me, would she feel uncomfortable? Maybe she might think I'm going to do weird stuff to her. I just don't want her to go off and die somewhere. Oh geez, what am I getting myself into? I hear her laugh a little and when I look at her, she covers her mouth and looks out quickly.
"Alright, let's just go." I say and get out of the van as she follows me to my car. I go to the trunk and throw her into the trunk (I just had to. sorry ya'll-author)....sike no I got a blanket for her and put it around her, and let her get into the car. "I'll just talk to Dames and I'll be back.
