Cloe POV
"UGH!" My voice was seriously going to die from how much I'm using it. My brother was next, landing in the dirt next to me with a similar cry. (Wait...You last left us on the beach? Oops. Backtrack!)
It's been 2 weeks since they found us on the beach, 2 weeks since we changed our names and about 6 days since we started training. Yeah, apparently we need to be ninjas in this world. Now I don't mind that but.....it's too much work. Also, my hairs green. What's up with that? It sucks alot. I liked being ginger.
"Come on. You guys can do this." Said the redhead. She has a name. I just think 'redhead' is more suiting for her. She was teaching us. We were tryng to learn how to rely on each other. At first, I thought that was the stupidest thing I had ever heard. I mean come on. He's my twin brother. We talk at the same time easily and on instict. How hard could this be, right? Very.
The idea was the if they tie us together by a leg, we have to work together to walk. I cant use my right leg and he can't use his left. You know those three legged races that they have at festivals? Imagine that except you can't move the middle leg. Yeah. It's freaking hard.
"Try locking your arms together," Gabi said. She's another twin. She and her brother are...actually more in sync than me and Cleo.
"It'll help you keep balance," Grant commented. We rolled our eyes at them and stood up. I doubt we would ever get the hang of this.

Present
Sevala POV
I walked toward my new "friend" the next day, simply because he had a bucket of fish. Hey, if your going to have friends, make sure they are the kind who bring you food. Good life advice right there. I instantly started diving in. I am very sure he was talking to me, but food! I dug until I spotted the devil. The eel. All dragons known to us are deadly allergic to eel. The only exceptions are the typhoomerangs, a rouge species who have the biggest ego of any dragon. I shrink away, screaming....well, roaring.
He panicked and grabbed the eel, throwing it into the lake. I calmed down, slowing my heart rate. "It's ok." He said, grabbing my attention. "I never liked eel much anyway." I took the second to watch him. He was holding some kind of contraption and seemed nervous about it. I shrugged it off. There was food!
I started digging in. I almost stopped a couple times, because he was messing around with my tail. I kept moving it, simply because of second nature. Remember, my tail is all the space from my legs to my ankles, so imagine when your sitting with your legs dangling. The first thing you want to do is move it right? Now imagine someone messing with your legs. Overall, I was in a pretty awkward position. I finished the whole bag of fish instantly.
Something leathery wrapped around my tail and tightened. I moved my tail, trying to get a feel for what shape the thing was that he was strapping to me. What was this? A sock? I lowered my wings in shock, when I felt my tail was completely balanced.
A PROSTHETIC TAIL! It was genius! Now, I had a way to get home. But, how to do it without him noticing.....
Aww, screw it. I'm going for the undetected ninja approach. By which I mean, who cares if he sees me. I lifted my wings high and took off at a sharp angle. I was messed up at first, about to crash into the ground once more. Then, a miracle happened. I flew up. I was flying again, enjoying the sharp wind in my wings, shaking my head against the gust that dare challenge me. I was headed home.
A sharp swerve in my tail sent me back to the cove. What? I didn't do that. I looked underneath me and saw that dreaded boy. He was very light, but more importantly, HE WAS RIDING ME! OH HEACK NO IS THAT GONNA FLY! IM GONNA IGOJEOSJFOVMDOSJVOJ.....just. Calm...down....Handle this like the smart, sophisticated, 300 year old, teenage young woman you are.
