Open fire, golden grief

Total pain, in the rain

I look unto the field

Where many men were slain


A battle bold

Out in the cold

Of frozen men

Less than ten

Were saved that day

But none ran away


I stare upon the open ground

Where there is not a single sound


For in the trees, and in the air

The dust arises, but no one cares


My knees gave way to awe that day

The awe of peace in a silent haze

For many men had died

But every single one, inside...
