So for the last several days, me, nightmerrs, RinTheVocaloid, HeroicGamer_Plays, Thathistorybuff13, and a few others went to the junior state BETA convention!
BETA is a national kid convention where you enter various completions and try to make it to nationals. It's usually in a pretty amazing place, and this year, if somebody won in the convention, they got to go to... DisneyWorld in Orlando, Florida!
So, since I had the grades, I was allowed to go to the convention! There were many competitions there, but I went and entered in Tower of Power and Banner!
Tower of Power is a competition where you get about 100 straws, masking tape, scissors, and a tennis ball. We had to make the highest structure using the 100 straws that could hold the tennis ball.
Banner is a creative kind of contest! You have to construct a banner out of BETA's theme. This year, he BETA theme was, "Above and Beyond."
Sadly, I did not win in any of the competitions I entered in... But I got to be the president of my school's BETA club, which meant I got to be on the Jumbotron and speak for our school. My friend, Cora, was the vice president, and held the banner for us!
It truly was an amazing experience to go too! I can't go back next year, but I'll definitely go the year after! ^o^
