Alex's POV, 6:28
"Pizza! Pizza! Pizza!" Annie sang as I set the pizza box on the table,
her long brown curls bouncing all over and blue eyes wide.
"Yummy!" She sang as she sat on the table with her stuffed cat by her side.
"Ok," I said and opened the box and ripped out a piece of cheese pizza and set it out in front of her on the paper plate.
She took a bite and smiled brightly.
"It's so good!"
"I know," I agreed, taking a bite of my own pepperoni pizza.
I was about to make small talk when my cellphone began ringing in my pocket and looked at the caller ID. Ashley.
"Hold on, I've gotta take this," I told Annie and got up from the table and answered as she pretended to make the cat eat her pizza.
"Hey,"
"Hi. So I talked to Alyssa yesterday and she can go camping,"
"She can?"
"Yes,"
"So everyone can go?"
"Yup! Also, the party, what time is it?"
I hesitated for a moment thinking of what time my mom will be out of the house. The first thing that popped into my mind was the calendar.
"Lemme check," I told into the phone.
My mom rarely writes on the calendar, only for work purposes, but this time I was lucky and looked at the date of my party and smiled.
"My moms leaving at 6, but be here by 6;30. K?"
"Sure,"
"Okay. Um what soda pop would you guys want?" I asked checking the fridge that was packed with beer.
"Um, buy a bottle of ginger ale, orange crush and coke, buy a pack of 24-can root beer and crush mix, some beer," Ashley suggested.
I nodded to myself and took a notepad off the kitchen counter and a pen and scribbled it down, knowing that beer wouldn't be a problem since there was tonnes.
"Ok, what else?"
"Can you buy some Doritos, original Lays, and Party mix,"
"Yea,"
"A box of pepperoni pizza, and popcorn."
"Okay."
I wrote it all down on the paper in my messy writing.
2 bottles 2 litres ginger ale - $4,50
1 bottle 2 litres orange crush- $2,25
1 bottle 2 litres coke - $2,25
24 Canned root beer - $4
24 Canned crush mix - $4
2 large Doritos - $8
1 large original Lays - $4
2 large party mix - $4
1 large Popcorn - $5
Large Pepperoni pizza - $35
Total- $73
"Seventy three dollars in total for food and drinks," I said into the phone.
"Shit, you can pay for that?"
"I mean, I'm savin up, but yeah,"
"Do you want me to help pay?" Ashley offered.
"No, it's fine, I rea-"
"No, I'm helping paying and so is everyone else. Now tell me how much the party will cost in total please,"
"Ok," I laughed and took a look at the previous page of my calculations for the cost.
