Fine. Have it your way. I walked over to where Jarid was seated, and sat across from him.

"Hey." He murmured, glancing up at me.

"Hey! So... what food did you get?" I asked him, poking around on his plate with the back of my fork.

"Oh just oatmeal and fruit. Why you so interested in my food, hot stuff?"

"Oh. Just curious." I whispered, stabbing a grape and popping it in my mouth.

"Ok."

"Yep." I ate my food slowly, and Jarid and I barely talked for the rest of breakfast. I rushed back to my room after that was over, and slammed the door. Lorelei, Cathy and Makenna came walking in.

"Hello. What's up with leaving me for Jarid?" Lorelei asked, shoving past me and onto the couch.

"I don't know. West took off to some chick and so I sat with Jarid. I think it was for the interview. So that people know we aren't officially together or that people don't even suspect we are together."  responded.

"Oh. Well a warning would of had been good. So... what did you 2 do last night?"

"Yeah sorry, I didn't even know. Well um I kinda...l-lost my-"

"Ok! I get it! But...wow. I didn't realize you guys liked each other that much."

"Yeah."

"Hey did you guys see these training uniforms? You have to wear them for the next 3 days. Here," Makenna said, throwing us our uniforms. They were uniforms, with a white torso, black pants with a red stripe down the front on each leg and one blue stripe on the back on each leg. The tops were white on the torso and one of the sleeves were red the other blue. The jacket was black on the left and white on the right, and in the back where the white and black met there was a red stripe near the top that turned into blue further down. They said our names on the back, and they looked pretty cool. I walked to the bathroom and slipped them on, and they were really comfy. The pants were nice and loose and thin, but still warm. The T-shirt was tight on me, but stretchy and flexible. The jacket was cotton on the inside and was nylon or something on the outside. The clothes were really comfortable, and I wanted to stay in them forever.

I escaped the bathroom at the same time Lorelei did, and she looked the same as me.

"Hey you guys do you want to head into the Training Room?" West said, walking into our room. He looked the same as us besides for the fact that the T-shirt was a men's size, and s it was cut differently.

"Yeah, let's go!" I shouted, walking out with West and Lorelei on my heels. I was excited about today, I couldn't wait to start training!

As we walked into the room we saw some other players seated in a circle around President Treadway. Not everybody was there yet, so we sat down with everyone else.

Soon the small room was filled, and President Treadway started her long spiel.

"Hello! Today is Day 1 out of 3 for training, then comes the trip to The Labyrinth! For today you will get to go to stations, where they have each weapon, for as long as you wish. You can stay here until curfew, and with meals same rules apply. Just don't be late after the bell. You are allowed to eat in those uniforms. Tomorrow at 4 we will start calling people in to get watched by the Judges, then we will show the scores on television. You will have all day today and most of tomorrow to practice. Good luck!"

With that everyone got up and went to different stations. I went to the knot-tying station first, and got as much help as I could with that. The only thing I was good at was making knots and knife throwing. I was really good with my hands, so I was good with those things. I remember that Makenna told me not to show my weaknesses or my strengths, so I was acting like I had no clue what to do at the station. After I had mastered (or already mastered) knot tying, I moved over to the camoflauge station. There was a tarp on the ground with many leaves, timber, plastic, sand and water on it. They were cut into sections where they would time you and help you camoflauge yourself into wherever they put you in.

I moved to the snow one, and started applying snow to myself. I took of the jacket and placed the white side on my legs to cover the black of the pants. Soon I was all white, and the trainer helped brush me off.

"Good job!" She whispered to me, dusting snow out of my hair.

"Thanks," I replied back, giving her a grin.

I walked to every station in a clock wise order, and ended up at the knives throwing station. The trainer approched me and asked me what level of experience I had. I told him I had some knowledge of this, but not much. He smirked and gave me a choice of knife to practice throwing. Once I selected my knife, which was a silver one that was short but sharp with a good grip, he led me over to the begginer dummies. I sighed, and threw the knife at the heart. It hit it exactly, with the end slightly wobbling. I glanced at the trainer, who was watching me with an eyebrow raised. I smirked at him and threw it again, this time chopping off the rope of the dummy. It came clattering to the floor, and I grinned at him. He looked at me stunned, and I gave him the hilt of the knife.

"Want to show me where the advanced targets are?" I whispered into his ear. He nodded, and I turned to follow him. I caught West's eye along the way, he was at the archery station. I winked at him and he rolled his eyes at me, causing me to stick out my tongue.

I kept following the trainer to the corner of the Training Room, where he motioned for me to turn around.

"See those targets at about halfway to the archery?" He asked, pointing to the middle of the floor.

"Yeah?" I answered, waiting.

"Hit the target. I want to see how far you can throw it." I shrugged, and drew in a deep breath. I opened my eyes and got in my stance. I looked around for anybody walking by, but everyone was consumed with their stations. I wung my arm back, and shot it forward, putting a spin on the knife. It went high, then came down low and struck the corner of the target. Perfect. Just where I wanted it. I looked at the trainer and shrugged, going to retrieve the knife.

"We'll work on your distance now." He told me, setting it back up.

***

After the dinner bell rang, I was exhausted. I had ran the conditioning with everyone else, the 4 miles. I worked until lunch with the trainer for knives working on my acuraccy and distance. By the end I culd throw it 3 quarters across the Training Room and get a bullseye. I sat with Lorelei, West, Cathy and Makenna for lunch and dinner. We talked about it for awhile, and discussed strategies for tomorrow. Finally we finished dinner, and I walked back to my room, changing into my sweats and falling asleep after a long shower.
