Taking another gulp of her drink, Faye let out yet another sigh.
Boredom, that's all she felt. It clouded over her like it was a bad headache that she couldn't get to leave her alone.
It had become her enemy for the time being, but that was the strange thing. Everything seemed way too calm, in a town crawling with the supernatural creatures Faye thought there would be some chaos she could join in on.
But it was dead, as if they were laying low, or hiding.
"Drinking alone?" The British accent was the first thing to pull Faye out of her thoughts. He took the stool next to her, inviting himself.
The boy who had been seated next to her, desperate to make conversation with her only moments before rolled his eyes. Finding his attempts pointless as the strawberry blonde didn't even glance at him once.
"Seems so" she hummed turning slightly towards the hybrid. "Tell me, Niklaus what brings you out this late?" She mused, her boredom and curiosity getting the best of her.
The blonde chuckled under his breath, "me? Couldn't sleep. What about you, Miss Gold, hm? Why is a beautiful lady like you out this late, alone?" He questioned, leaning closer to her smirking slightly as she gasps. "Aren't you aware of what lurks in the dark?"
Instead of one of snarky replies, they sat in a peaceful silence as Faye remembered the first time he had said those words to her.
The two gazed into each others eyes as if it was the most interesting thing at the moment.
**Flashback begins**
Faye held her petite hand over her mouth, trying to contain her loud and uneven breathing. Her hazel eyes were wide as she thought about what she just saw, Kol Mikaelson had been feeding from one of the handmaiden's neck.
Only to drop a lifeless body, moments later. He killed her, drained her of her blood.
He was a beast, a creature of the night.
It was shocking to Faye, she had grown close to all the Mikaelson children since their stay here, so witnessing this, was shocking.
As shocking as it was, Faye didn't scream, she wasn't scared. That didn't mean she would approach the youngest Mikaelson and ask what he was, she wasn't stupid.
Plus, she already knew what he was; a demon. A bloodsucking creature of the night; a vampire.
Deciding to forget this ever happened, Faye turned on her heel, ready to go back to her quarters. Yet, the girl only stopped in her tracks a second later as she came face to face with Niklaus Mikaelson.
He held a smirk on his crimson lips, they had blood on them, as if he too, had just fed from one of the innocent residents. Faye's eyes went wide as she watched him lick the thin liquid from his lips. "Ah, that really hit the spot. Now, Miss Gold, to deal with you." He spoke, leaning in closer to her, his warm breath fanning her pale face. Klaus brought his hand up to her cheek. Her skin burned under his touch, and her heart beat sped up, but she wasn't scared.
Before anything could happen, though, a voice spoke up.
"Niklaus," it was Elijah, coming to Faye's rescue. His tone was a warning one, as if telling Niklaus not to do anything he'd regret.
Not turning to meet his brother's scolding gaze, he stayed in his same position, planted inches away from Faye. "Miss Gold, what is a beautiful lady like you doing out so late, alone, hm?" His words brought a slight blush onto Faye's cheeks but she was speechless, she didn't respond. A gasp emitted from the strawberry blondes mouth as he came closer, bringing his smirking lips next to her ear he whispered, "aren't you aware of what lurks in the dark?"
His breath tickled her skin, making her tense, earning a victorious smirk from the older man.
For seconds their eyes locked, before Niklaus sped away, not another word said between the two.
**Flash back ends**
Clearing his throat, Niklaus looked away from her eyes. His emotions were clouded, it was always like that when Faye came around. Though, jealousy was the most common emotion he felt when it came to Faye.
"Nik," she just about whispered reaching out her hand towards his face, as if to grab his face, but it stopped centimeters away.
The hybrid sped away, not looking back at the vampire as he left the bar.
Faye let out a groan, feeling annoyed that he just left.
What was that?
Why did he affect her, even as a vampire?
All her thoughts dispersed as she looked up at the smirking figure infront of her.
"Darling, I missed you."
DAYUM, GIRL, I SAID DAMN
