Waves of Love

Prologue:

The summer heat rapidly cooled as the sun began to set in the west, the beach began to fill with people who were attending the annual Labor Day blow out party. All the locals of Tybee Island got together and set up this major party for the rest of the locals and the tourist that are around the island for Labor Day. I smiled happily as I finished fixing my hair, for the main event this year; The Tybee’s Tiny Dancers Dance Company placed first at state and our coach made us the main event for the party.

“Are y’all all most ready?” Ms. Anne asked us as we waited go out and dance on the sand. All ten of us nodded.

“Brandy and Ivey; don’t forget to hit that jump on time and in sync.” Ms. Anne smiled happily as she walked over to the DJ and talked to him. I looked over at Ivey and watched her calculate the steps in her head. I made my way over to her and grabbed her arms.

“Ivey, stop, you got this.” I smiled at her. She nodded and smiled at me.

“I just want Kendall to be proud, you know?” She told me.

“Kendall will always be proud of you, y’all are in love and he loves you so much. Just don’t over stress it! We hit at state and every other time before, so don't stress now.” I told her with bright smile. The sun had finally set over the beach and the Christmas lights we had strung up earlier were finally glowing to life in the darkness.

“Thank you to everyone who came out. Tonight we have a special treat for y’all. To start this party off we have the Tybee’s Tiny Dancers, performing their dance that won them first place at state.” Ms. Anne told the crowd with a proud smile as we made our way out onto the stage. “Here they are with Who’s That Boy, by Demi Lovato.” She added. I smiled as I took my place in the middle of my dance sisters and spotted him in the crowd of people; Conrad Benjamin Smith. The 22 year old Marine; who I had fallen in love with over a few short summer weeks. He smiled backed at me and winked his beautifully bright blue embers that brighten the night.

The crowd clapped as the music started and we busted out our perfect dance skills. Soon Ivey was standing next to me as we lightly ran across the small stage; gaining air as we jumped and landed our triple spin perfectly. I smiled happily as I heard his wolf whistle echo louder over the others. The song ended soon after that with all of us ending in our perfect poses. The crowd exploded into cheers, whistles, and applauds. The girls and I took our bows and made our way off stage. I soon found myself making my way out onto the beach and running toward him and landing perfectly in his arms. A small chuckle racked his body as he held me close and placed me on my feet. I placed my lips on top of his stealing a kiss in the night.

“Hey.” I sighed happily as I smiled up at him and noticed how his dark aqua button down shirt brighten his blue embers. I ran my hand through his thick dark brown locks.  Conrad Benjamin Smith; was my perfect sex god. His looks every girl swooned over. His six foot one tall stature had girls stopping in their tracks. His eyes were sharp, yet they danced with kindness and passion. His thick arms and broad shoulders showed his military strength and his tan skin showed his summer surfer boy side.  He could have any girl in the world, yet he liked me; a seventeen year old senior in high school.

“Hey beautiful,” He said with bright white smile, that shined brighter than the moon. “You were perfect up there; you didn’t tell me that you danced that good.” He told me running his hand down my face.
