summer 2014
arianna

6 months have passed since nash had attempted in san francisco.

he hasn't spoken about doing anything or even being close to that point anymore, which made me happy.
we've been together for 6 months now, only getting into a few small fights every now and then.

we were going to a lake today, for a bonfire people were having from our school.

the weather was hot and humid, and i was dressed in a white crop top with a bandeau and black high waisted shorts, along with white converse. nash was in his white and red shirt with jeans and black converse, one hand on the steering wheel and the other on my thigh.

it was beginning to get dark, the sun setting behind the trees. there was at least 80 people here, and definitely a lot of things going on.

some people i recognized were carrying in glasses and bottles of alcohol.

oh. how fun.

nash laughed and shook his head and i followed his gaze to see a couple making out behind a truck.

"classy," i laughed as soon as we got further away.

"you know it." nash joked.

i followed him to a group of people he knew, but I didn't really know.

it's been nearly a year and i still barely know anyone.

"hey arianna do you want some?" a guy held up a bong and a lighter. i shook my head, and he shrugged.

"alright but if you ever want some, my name's quin."

"i'll remember that," i gave him a thumbs up and a smile and continued walking with nash until we were almost away from everyone.

we sat on a dock with our feet hanging off of the edge, laying back and looking at the sky which was clear and very beautiful at the moment.

"what if you didn't want starbucks that day?" nash asked, sitting up and looking down at me from beside me.

"i know we would've met some other way then," i responded, crossing my arms over my stomach.

"what if i would've done it here? in carolina, before we even met?"

why did he bring it up again?

he hasn't brought it up at all since it happened, why now?

"nash.." i sat up, looking at him. he looked down and reached for my hand. our fingers intertwined and he squeezed my hands.

"you're the most amazing person i have ever known," he said quietly. in the distance, i heard a loud pop followed by a bright light in the sky.

fireworks.

his hand unwrapped from mine, his arm going over my shoulder to pull me closer to him.

"there has to be someone better than me." i said, resting my head on his shoulder. he shook his head and there was silence for a few minutes before he stood up, looking down at me. he reached his hand out, and igrabbed it. he pulled me up and put his hands on my waist, pulling me into him.

i wrapped my arms around his neck and hugged him tightly. he squeezed me tighter, causing my heart to flutter. in that moment, i realized how much he meant to me. i've known it all along, but sometimes it just hits you.

"do you wanna try something?" he whispered. i pulled out of our hug, arms still around his neck and raised an eyebrow.
