CHAPTER SEVEN.
THE MINISTRY HAS FALLEN

|

"We're really doing this," Rosalie stated, "We are actually going to infiltrate the Ministry, grab the locket, and run for it."

Harry nodded, "Pretty much."

Rosalie brought her head into her hand, already knowing that this plan would end in a disaster. They knew that Death Eaters had already taken over, yet they were still going to walk right into the place that could easily kill them. Rosalie would be rewarded for taking them there, and the others would be killed as quickly as possible.

"You know, you're bloody awful at creating plans," Rosalie commented, "This is not going to end well."

"Do you have any better ideas?" Hermione asked harshly, looking at the girl with distain.

"Yes! Find Umbridge at a pub, take her out and kill her," Rosalie said with wide eyes, "That way we'll never have to worry about her again."

"We don't kill people," Harry told her sternly, "Otherwise we're just like our enemy."

"What? Are those some other wise words Dumbledore told you?" Rosalie snapped, instantly feeling guilty when she saw the sad look on his face, "Look, I'm sorry. I just – I don't want anyone to die if this plan goes sour."

Hermione looked at Rosalie, memories flooding of the girl who found her in the library with her nose stuck in a book because she wanted to belong. Rosalie had told her that she already did, instantly making the young Hermione feel better. The Allen girl was the only one who tried to become friends with her at first, the only one that didn't care if she was a show off in class, always having the correct answers and sharing her knowledge with others.

But now, she looked at the girl and couldn't even imagine that little girl. She was so different, colder, more guarded, and Hermione wondered where she could have gone. But Hermione realized that people change, that they grow up and sometimes are unrecognizable from the kids they were.

"The potion is almost ready," the Granger called, looking away from the other girl.

Rosalie looked at the potion, the smell already pungent. Quickly, she took a step back from it. She didn't want to go in there, although, she knew she could. Rosalie knew that she could walk in there, herself, and there would be no harm done to her – as long as she told them where Harry Potter was.

Still, Rosalie got into position. She went with Ron into the street, trying to lead one of the Ministry workers near the other two, blocking off the other side of the sidewalk.

"I can't believe you!" Rosalie screamed at him, "Rebecca always said not to date you, and I should have listened!"

"Come on, love," Ron tried to quiet her down, "It was only one time. And it didn't mean anything. You know that!"
