"I only have 3 questions for you as our time is limited and I do not want to pry."

"Okay."

"Okay so first question. Are you comfortable living alongside the Avengers?"

*explains*

"Oh okay um, who is Steve Rogers to you?"

"Only connection to my past."

"Okay and-"

"And my boyfriend."

Interviewer taken aback.

"I wish I had 5 questions. I'm sure someone will open up about that later no?"

"Is that your 3rd question?"

"No no no please I um okay. How do you feel about Wanda Maximoff?"

"It's like having Becca back. A really telekinetic, masculine Becca." (???)

"Like having your sister back? To be clear?"

"You said three questions."

Interviewer rearranges glasses, "Right yes I'm so sorry-" goes to shake hand "But thank you for your time"

"But yes. Wanda is like having Becca back."

Bucky's eyes swell with tears.

"I'm sorry I uh, that's not very professional huh?"

"No no. It's alright to cry."

Bucky composes himself terrifyingly quick.

"I just, I want to ask a favor."

Bucky turns his head to the side, curious.

"Keep fighting the good fight. You're much stronger than you give yourself credit for. Surviving being well not straight in the 40's, those 70 years where no one knew you lived and now recovering and living amongst your colleagues and old lover? That's astonishing. I really aspire to be like you. Be strong and know it's okay if you can't. Everyone needs a break. (something inspirational here)"

Bucky breaks down into tears and hugs the interviewer with his one arm.

Int: "I did two tours. I'm sorry you did 70 for a team you didn't want to fight for."

"Oh god, they got you?"

"Yeah."

"Oh kid."

*shield officaials rush in*

"No no no. More more-"

"More time Barnes?"

nodding while crying

"Okay."

silence

"I miss Becca."

Interviewer understands and listens.

"I miss Becca and my ma and my Pa. Even if my Pa hit me for being with Steve. I never really wanted him gone, I just-" more sobbing.

More nodding and hugging.

"I see her in Wanda. The literal and metaphorical fire in her eyes. Her chocolate hair. The swearing and stupid tease-names."

"I'm sorry that this happened to you. No one deserves or deserved a fate like yours."

Bucky's grip gets stronger with his one arm
