Hades looked me thoughtfully. I figured he was trying to understand who I was supposed to be with. "There are only two reasons that children of yours would be forced into semi-immortal states. Either, A, the one who is to be your wife is only semi-immortal herself, or, B, and the more likely of the two, your wife is a powerful entity herself, and a child or children between you two would upset the balance of the known world should they be immortal gods."

Hades declaration of his thoughts stunned me. It was a very intelligent idea and also very accurate. "Yes, I do believe you may be right. But there is also another possibility."

"And what would that be?" came Athena.

"That whomever I am to be with had sworn an oath. And seeing as that we would both be above my nieces' ability to influence, the only other choice would be our children. I think that is a good possibility. Seeing as they adore me, they wouldn't want to anger me or see me sad, so they chose an outcome that would still allow them to stay safe from my wrath while also upholding the balance with Lady Styx."

Now the Olympians looked thoughtful. Only three goddess' had taken such an oath. One despised men and rarely was on good terms with one, even her brother. Another had found a way to have children without breaking her vow, and the third seemed less inclined do fall in love. Or so everyone thought to themselves. But they knew it had to be one of those three.

"Finally!" came a voice near the middle of the throne room. The fire that was there at all times seemed to flare to life, and a beautiful woman stepped out. She was stunning, looking about twenty years of age, with brunette hair and light brownish-red eyes that seemed to be fires themselves.

"Hestia?!" came many of the council's shouts. Most had not expected this, but one seemed to grin as he sat back in his golden throne.

His sister turned to see his grin and asked, "You knew?"

He just smirked and nodded. "For quite a while now. Aphrodite knew that she was in love, but never with whom. She has been frustrated with it since we all found out that I had prophecy as a domain. She's been bugging me since to find out who it was. I never told her though. I thought Aunt Hestia deserved her privacy, and to be honest, I knew too little about Perseus, only that he was extremely powerful and obviously we all saw what happened when he got mad. I had no intentions of bringing that wrath down upon myself."

Artemis looked at Apollo with a bit of surprise, as it seemed the boy did not make very many intellectual thoughts known to everyone, instead, always sounding quite...stupid. I grinned. Then looked back as the goddess of the hearth approached me.

To be honest, I had never thought of Hestia in such a way, and she wasn't whom I would have guessed I was fated to be with. Though it would make sense, as such things seemed to just pan out in an unexpected way.

I was unsure of what to do as she walked up. I didn't know if I should meet her and express feelings I wasn't even sure of yet, or just wait and tell her that I didn't know. My body chose for me, remaining rooted in place and muttering, "Uh?"
