Sleeping With The Enemy (EDITED VERSION) COMPLETED

Chapter 6

I was sitting at my nanna's when I fell asleep. I was so tired I didn't feel like driving all the way home. I sat up in the recliner chair next to my nanna's bed and stretched. I looked over to see her sound asleep. I picked up my phone off my lap and press the wake button on my phone, it was 11:00. I didn't think it was that late I put my phone in my bra, then pulled the cover off of me, and got up I folded the blanket up and placed it in the chair then bent down over my nanna and kissed her on the cheek. I walked out her room and headed towards the front room to leave.

"Hey Carmen you gone?" I heard my nanna best friend Cliff say to me as I was passing by the front room.

"Yeah it's late it's about time I get home"

"Oh well you know you're always welcome to stay the night" cliff said getting up out the rocking chair and walking over to me.

"I know, but nanna has you cliff and I'm glad you're around I wish my grandpa would be doing this, but he's so stubborn it'll never happen" I said shifting my weight to my right leg.

"Yeah, but you know I always had a thing for your grandma I wished she would've saw it sooner when we was younger"

"Cliff she loves you too and I think you and her should get married cliff you're the only man that I know that truly cares for her and I appreciate you a lot" I said placing my hand on his forearm.

"Oh thank you baby, you're such a sweetheart" cliff said with a smile

"I'll see yall later now you get some rest" I said giving cliff a hug and then leaving out the house. The air was nice and warm as the night breeze hit my skin. I got in the family car and left. I was still tired ass hell and my body was sore. All I want to do is soak my body in a hot bubble bath. I drove for 30 minutes before I reached my house. I pulled into the driveway and parked then cutting off the engine. I got out and headed inside. It was pitch dark as I walked through the house. When I opened up my bedroom door I seen the light was dim low, rose petals was on the bed forming a heart and in the middle the rose petals spelled out I love you. I smiled, but I didn't see Derrick I then noticed the rose petals on the floor leading towards the bathroom down the hallway from our room. I sat my purse down on the dresser and walked iout the room down the hall to the other bathroom  to see derrick sitting on the edge of the bathtub in his black and red polo boxers with candles lit and a bubble bath ran. I smiled and leaned up against the bathroom doorway.

"I didn't know if you was coming home or not" derrick said getting up walking over to me and placing his hands on my waist.

"You did all this for me?" I asked looking down.

"Yes babe because I love you and I want you to know that" he said lifting up my head and kissing me on my lips.

"I love you" I said in a whisper

"I love you more"

I blushed and put my hands over my face.

Derrick then removed my hands "Don't do that I love seeing your pretty face"

"I'm not pretty anymore" I felt like the bruise on my face made me look ugly.

"That's not true even with the bruise your still fine ass hell to me and I regret ever hurting you" Derrick said looking me deep into my eyes.

"Really?" I asked I wanted to know if he meant what he said as i looked into his eyes.

"There's nothing in this world I wouldn't do for you girl I don't care what the others say now that I got you babe don't nothing give me joy like you girl all the little things you do it's all about you" As Derrick sang Keke Wyatt and Avant " Nothing in This World" I began to cry I never heard Derrick sing before and his voice was beautiful.
