Hey guys!  I have a few one-shot type things I've wanted to write for percico, so I'm doing it!  I hope you don't mind! -DB

Percy had heard the music for years on end, and wondered if it would ever just stop, but he often did get a small break in the middle of the day, then, when he reached about the age of twelve, the music lined up with his sleeping schedule.  He didn't know how, or where it was coming from.

But one day, he decided to ask his mother, who had never questioned it in case her son had never gotten to hear the music, but when Percy walked up to her, asking about the faint, ever present music in his ear, her face lit up.  "Oh, Percy!  That's your soulmate!  Whenever they're listening to music, you can hear it."

"Oh!  So if I go play some music, my soulmate could hear it?" he asked, looking up at his mom, confused with how the whole soulmate thing worked, but excited to actually know if someone could hear him.

"Mhm, that's how it works," Sally smiled, kissing her son's forehead, then going back to preparing that night's dinner.

Over the course of the next years he learned more about it, and it taught him small things about his soulmate, more importantly that his soulmate was extremely close to him.

It turned out that his soulmate went to the same school as him, but he didn't know what grade or anything, but he figured out the other's music playlist by looking up the lyrics, he had it written down, although he could name most of the songs at this point, as he had been forced to listen to it for so long.  At the moment, the other was listening to Landslide, by the group called Oh Wonder, and as Percy was walking down the hall, it became deafening.

But, once he passed a certain someone, it started to die down, so Percy turned, raking his gaze through the crowd for anyone that could possibly be listening to that, so he started walking the other way, the music increasingly getting louder as he walked, it pulsing with each step.  He almost began sprinting, pushing past teens just trying to get to their next class, bumping into many, but not caring as much as when the music started clouding his brain again.

There was one head that seemed to stand out the most, a bobbing head full of black curls, almost brown, his eyes were trained on the locker in front of him, as he pulled books out of his bag, putting new books in, then Percy went up to him.

Percy shakily put a hand on the boy's arm, stopping him, causing the boy to turn and look at Percy, his eyes glancing over the much taller boy, pulling an earbud out, and turning off the music, and the music stopped in Percy's ear.  "Oh god, it's you... It's you!  I knew you were close!" Percy said, letting out the breath he didn't know he was holding.

"What are you talking about?" the boy in front of him answered, utterly confused, looking at Percy as if he had a third eye.

"Alright, give me one of your earbuds," Percy said, and Nico handed them over, not wanting to get in the way of the upperclassmen in front of him.

Then, Percy put both of them in, and turned on the music again, looking directly at Nico's face, and the younger boy's eyes widened, placing a hand over his mouth.  Percy turned the music off, and took out the earbuds, a sly smile on his face.  "My name is Percy Jackson," he said, extending a hand, and holding out the phone and earbuds in the other.

"Nico di Angelo," he responded, shaking the hand, and bringing his phone back to his pocket, "Uh, I've gotta get to class, but meet me here after school, okay?" the younger of the two said, closing his locker.

Percy nodded, "Okay, I'll see you later then," he let out a smile, then made his way to his next class, not even caring that he had walked in late.

For the rest of the day Percy couldn't get the impish grin off his face, and Nico couldn't get the sea green eyes and black hair from his head.

Nico had gone and asked his friends about the infamous Percy Jackson, and learned that Percy was captain of the varsity swim team, which explained the letter man jacket, and why the older one reeked of chlorine.

And as promised, Percy was waiting, standing next to Nico's locker, fidgeting with his hands to keep himself busy, and from getting nervous.  "Hey, Percy," Nico said, going and opening up the locker.

"Oh!  Hey," Percy responded, giving the younger of the two a smile.

Let's just say that a year later, the two were walking into the school, hand in hand, Nico wearing Percy's letter man, gigantic grins on both of their faces.

I really hope everyone enjoyed that little bit, and if you celebrate Easter, happy Easter!  If not, happy random Sunday! -DB
