The world was still.
Nothing moved.
The sky was orange, it was pitch quiet.
It appeared that nothing would ever happen again.
Well, to those who were still.

Gibson let go of Indigo and the two looked around them. Gibson sighed. Indigo looked around in awe. "Wait- this- but-" Gibson sighed again. "It's all still. Earth is still. We're alive, that's what matters. Now dust yourself off and get up. We have seven seconds once I stop this, meaning we're pretty much screwed. Let's get the spaceship set up." Indigo nodded, but much went through his head. "Gibson- It's frozen. We could go anywhere! Do anything! Now that we're alive- don't you want to have a bit of fun?" Gibson looked around, pushing people ever. "I don't want to waste a lot of time. The ground has been hit with it, meaning I have partial control of when we unfreeze time. Meaning it could happen any minute now, and we would be dead." Indigo nodded. "Oh- ok."

Gibson got to work sorting through people's pockets to find objects that were necessary. Mostly space station workers, but a couple rich kids now and again. After finding the needed equipment, including a handy dandy ring of keys, Gibson turned around. "Indigo let's go now-" Indigo was sitting on the ground, staring into the frozen sky. He turned around. "What? We're ready- ok!" He stood up and Gibson understood. "Wait- let's just look for a bit- you're right. It IS pretty cool." Indigo nodded. "It's so strange.." Gibson smiled. "Just think. Right now you're looking at the last seven seconds- ever." That made Indigo shiver a little. The whole densely populated town would be nothing but a pile of dust in the ever so large universe, and it would all happen in seven seconds. "...We should probably get going, Gibson." The trees swayed without movement. Gibson nodded. "I guess so.. C'mon." The two headed towards the ship, with Gibson's minor changes. "Wait- why is it covered in symbols?" Indigo asked wearily. "Remember, they are destroying Earth. I think if they saw a surviving ship possibly full of humans, they would shoot it down without a second thought. The galaxy is a weird place, Indigo. Especially this one." Indigo tilted his head as the ladder came down. "And why's that?" Gibson laughed. "Well, nobody really expected it to live on this long! Here was an easy to invade planet with so much to offer and yet your race slowly killed it! I mean, Earth has been the laughing stock of many galaxies for ages! So many people contemplated overthrowing it but- with the damage that had been done to it already, it seemed there was no hope. They took it down because they wanted to do away with most humans. They think the things inhabiting Earth are stupid and useless." Indigo looked down. "Stupid and useless..?" Gibson frowned. "I didn't mean that! I meant the creatures, the animals! You realize that Earth has 0.00000001492 of all mammals and 96.55049% of them are in the bottom of the sustenance chain? Trust me, there's so many worlds out there.." Indigo stayed still, stuck on the insulting part. Gibson sighed. "Hey, listen.. They took down your planet because your race has two things most of them lack. Bravery and hope." Indigo perked up slowly. "From the past few days, Indigo, I have seen so much from you. You made me glad I was assigned to you." Indigo smiled and begun to climb into the ship. "Let's get a move on, Gibson. Don't want to explo- Woah.." The inside of the ship was nice and big, and had been extremely well furnished for an aircraft. It almost seemed like a paradise on its own. Indigo sat down in one of the front chairs and clipped in. He felt something rustle at his feet and found a barf bag. He held it up and waved it at Gibson. "Hey, you think I'll need this?" Gibson paused. "Well, at the speed we'll be going.. I'd say definitely." Indigo went pale. "Oh gosh.."
Gibson turned all the keys in their spots, though their lights did not turn on. He revved the engine, which also stayed silent. He gave one last look at the crowded event before pulling the ladder in and closing the hatch. He took a deep breath. "Seven seconds. Seven seconds.. You've never had this little time." Gibson made sure to double check every key and sat down on the non budging lever, ready for it to work as soon as he did so. He gave a nod to Indigo, who nodded back. Gibson winced and pushed the button on the machine. As soon as he did, the lever dropped. Gibson hurled himself towards the seat and locked in, with five seconds to spare.
"Also Indigo!"
"Yeah?"
"That thing you asked about us being friends?"
"Uh- Yeah?"
"Yes!- AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA-"

The two were launched into space, the planet exploding seconds after.
