Lauren's POV
It was the day of the dance and I could not wait actually. I was happy about it being mysterious and no one knowing who I was.
I made sure all my stuff for the dance was ready. I then got ready to school and waited for my bus to get here.
______
At School
As I sat down I saw everyone in my class already in their seats, well except Austin and Ashley. They probably were planning not to come to the dance and then hide it with not coming to school. That wasn't fair.
I sat by Colby, who was listening to music. I took out my phone and texted in the group chat even though almost all of us were in the room.

Lauren - Why aren't those two here today
Ava - idk they wont answer
''Why are you texting in the group chat?'', Colby asked me. I gave him a death glare and put my phone away as Ms. Taylor told us to read the books she assigned.
After it was time for second period, I headed to my chemistry class. As I went to class I heard laughing behind me. I turned around and but didn't see who laughed. That was strange. I ignored it and just assumed it was nothing.
________
At the Dance
I was one of the first ones at the dance. It felt kinda awkward without any of my friends here.
''I love your dress'', said to me a random dirty blonde.
Oh yeah, I was wearing a black dress that went to my knees and also a pair of black heals. I wondered who she was but since she had a mask I couldn't tell.
I straitened my mask to make sure it wouldn't fall off my face.
I looked at the entrance and saw a pair talking to each other and holding hands. The girl was wearing a white sleeveless dress that went a bit below her knees and a white mask with feathers. The guy was wearing a black tuxedo like almost every guy here.
I remembered that Delaine was the only one who knew what everyone was wearing since she choose the outfits. I did remember one way of knowing who everyone was, their necklace.
I looked back at the pair and saw the girl had her necklace tucked in her dress. Shoot. I realized I had my necklace in the open and then I tucked it in dress too.
I hurried off to the snack bar where I got some punch. A boy got infront of me and asked me if I wanted to dance. I looked at him and saw he had dark brown hair with a white mask and white tuxedo. I accepted his offer and went to with him.
After a few minutes I went to try and find anyone in my class. I looked around and saw a guy with a girl dancing. I definitely knew she was in my class, she also had her necklace tucked into her dress. I went up to them and looked them straight in the eye. ''I bet you two don't even know who the other is'', I teased them.
They looked at each other and then at me and responded with a simple no. The girl looked hispanic, so I knew it was either Ashley or Adriana. I got closer to the girl and pulled on her necklace so I could look at it. She tried stopping me but failed.
The gem was a black color, I knew Ashley's was a golden color which meant this was Adriana. She sure wasn't dressed like herself, she was wearing a long black dress with a white belt and black heels and her mask was black too. She even had a strip of hair braided to look like a headband.
