He has Money

Affluence goes hand in hand with power, and seeing the fact that a man enough money to comfortably provide for you(not that you can't work...Lilly😉) as well as himself(and any potential children) is attractive as we automatically know that this potential mate is quite successful and responsible enough to manage his money. 

Rikkard Ambrose clearly has a lot of money and is very protective and proud of it as shown in; how much he hates payday as it means he has to give away some of his hard earned and much loved money; he fiercely defends his title as wealthiest man in the British Empire; he struggles to give away money to buy essential supplies in ITEOTS for the desert trip; he haggles a merchant in a bazaar down to lowest possible price point in ITEOTS; he refuses to pay international trade tarrifs and taxes in SIG, and instead chooses to shoot down the Argentine Navy Ships that were in his way; he robs the people of Argentina of their money(through selling overpriced goods) in SIG.

Rikkard Ambrose has money and he knows it. It could even be considered his first love(true love of course being Lilly). Even more impressive is that he doesn't really let his affluence go to his head, and still fights to protect every cent of his precious money. That, Ladies and Gentlemen, shows dedication and passion(lol).
