“I-I um have to tell you something”. How am I supposed to say it, hey guess what! I have a child and he’s four oh yea and his dad pays child support… no wait scratch the last part he doesn’t need to know that.

“W-what is it you’re scaring me… you don’t have aids do you” he asked shocked. I smiled at his suggestion, I placed both of my hands on his risk placing his hands firmly against my cheek.

“No um I think this is a little better than that” I chuckled. He raised an eyebrow, I guess he’s getting impatient.

“Well there’s no other way to say this but… umm Chris i-I have a… son and he’s five years old.” I finished in a whisper.  Not wanting to look into his eyes I stared at nothing behind him. Jesus now he’s going to want to know the whole story. It was nothing but silence for about ten minutes, what am I supposed to do? Leave, I mean he is my only ride home; but before I could even think about leaving he broke my thoughts in half.

“I don’t care” he finally murmured, which really cached me off guard.

“You don’t care? You should” wait why should he again?.

“No I shouldn’t, I mean why I should? It’s a part of you, your life and I can’t control that about you”. Even though that is not what I was expecting to hear, it was still the best answer I’ve ever heard; A hundred points for Davidson.

Feeling in the moment I lunged for him grabbing hold of his face placing my lips on to his. He was shocked at first until he gave in, devouring my mouth. He plunged tasty tongue in to my mouth. It was slow and soft… a kiss I’ve been longing for, for the past emptiness of my life, it was too much at one that I pulled away.

“What was that for” he asked as I finally prided my eyes open.

“Just a thank you.” I got a good grip on his wrist to pull him over to the seats so we could take off our skates. We were both done taking them off and grabbing our things, heading out into the windy night. He took my hand leading us to his car opening up my side door helping me into the car. And he drove off.

“So here we are” he muttered already we were pulling in to my drive way. I nodded giving him a smile.

“Can I walk you to your door?” I nodded a yes and opened my car door headed towards the door. Standing at the door in silence felt like one of those movies when he swoops down and kisses you.

“Thank you for tonight, and for understanding my situation” I muttered staring at his expression. He smiled in a ‘you welcome way’.

“No problem I know that he is the world to you, and I can’t imagine you just giving him up.” And it was true I couldn’t, not for anybody and since his dad left we’ve gotten closer than ever.

“Yea he is” I murmured in my own little world.

“And I was wondering, if one day… I could meet him?” it was more of a question. I couldn’t, not yet exactly; I couldn’t let him meet someone and then he ends up not staying around. I shook my head frantically, not sure.

“I-I can’t, he can’t meet you yet, he’s not ready” I murmured to him looking off into space.

“No, I wasn’t talking about now. Whenever you fill like you’re ready, then I would Love to meet the little guy. Ok” reassuring me. God why was this man single again.

“Ok. I can do that” I chuckled. He pulled me into a hug, a nice comforting one at that. His arms are so big and it felt good to be in his embrace. As I thought he was going to give me a final cloud nine kiss… instead he gave me a soft lingering kiss on my forehead.

“Night Megan. Have sweet dreams about me” he teased walking away to his car. As he hopped in I waved a last good bye.

“Goodnight Chris” I whispered before entering the comfort of my home.

"Hey momma!" and a naked Emanuel.
