[ Countdowns ]

EVA FRANTICALLY LOOKED THROUGH HER closet to try and find a dress that fit her well. Erin was watching her while playing with her fingers.

"So Eva...would you like to tell me why you called me over?" Erin finally asked. Eva turned back to face her.

"I'm going on a date and I need fashion advice." Eva said. "Noora has a WAY better fashion sense than me."

"Yeah, but I like your style." Eva shrugged. "I'm wearing sweats and an oversized sweatshirt with fuzzy socks."

"That's cute." Eva smiled. "Not for a date." Erin stood up and joined Eva in her closet. Erin found a light pink dress that reached above her knees and looked like it would hug Eva's curves just right.

"Here," Erin shoved the dress in Eva's arms. "Put this on and I'll get the straightening iron on." Eva smiled. "Thanks Erin."

Eva walked into their bathroom and closed the door. Meanwhile Erin plugged in the iron. She played on her phone for a bit waiting for Eva to come out.

A couple minutes after Eva came out looking beautiful and the dress did hug her curves. "Oh my god! Eva you look amazing!"

"Thank you." Eva nodded her head and bowed. She giggled and checked herself in the mirror. "You  have a very nice sense of style." Eva winked Erin.

"Well I learned from the best," she said. Eva blushed. "Noora has an amazing style." Erin laughed at Eva when she thought that she was taking about her.

"Well I'm going to do my hair. If you're hungry I have dino nuggets in the freezer." She said and sat down grabbing the iron.

Erin walked up to Eva's kitchen and heated up some nuggets and saw down at her table, scrolling through her phone. 15 minutes had passed and there was a knock at Eva's door and a doorbell ring.

"Eva I think your date's here!" Called Erin. Eva panicked. "Sh*t, sh*t, sh*t! Uh just tell him to wait okay? I need two more pieces to go and my shoes!"

Erin walked to the door and found herself face to face with none other than Chris Schistad. "Schistad? What are you doing here?"

"I could ask the same about you? I thought I was going on a date with Eva." He chuckled. "Wait what?! You're Eva's date?"

"Is there a problem with that?" Chris asked. "Not at all. It's your life, live it the way you want." Erin said opening the door wider for Chris to come inside.

"So where is she?" "Getting ready. You came a little too early." Erin answered.

Chris walked around the space looking at he the only frames of Eva and her mother and some of Eva and the girls. He sat down on the couch and looked down.

"So uh how have you been?" Chris asked. "Better." Erin simply said. She walked over to the table again to finish her nuggets.

"Dino nuggets? Aren't those for kids?" Chris laughed. "Chris I could care less if these are for kids," Erin rolled her eyes wanting the conversation to be over.

If Eva was going to start dating Chris she had to push her feelings out of the way and let Eva be happy. "Okay..." Chris had dropped the convo and had just gone on his phone.

Eva came out a couple of minutes later looking more beautiful than Erin would ever in her whole life. "Woah..." breathed Chris.

"You look fantastic, babe." Babe. That word had always sounded distasteful in Erin's mouth. She never liked it it.

"Thanks for helping me get ready, E." Eva smiled at Erin. "Uh no problem, have fun you two." Erin said and grabbed her stuff.

Chris would never admit this outloud, but he thought that even in her grey sweatpants and her black sweater that looked two sizes to big, Erin was the most beautiful person ever.

Erin walked out of the house, stealing one last glance at Chris before walking out. Erin sighed as soon as she got out the door. It had started to rain and Erin hadn't brought an umbrella.

"Sh*t..." Erin cursed and continued to walk out to the sidewalk and began to walk home. A familiar black Mercedes pulled up next to her.

"Erin!" She kept walking and kept her head down. "Erin Marie Samuels!" Called Chris in a more stern voice.

"Sweetie! Come in the car please!" Eva called. "No! Continue your date," Erin said. She squinted at the car, trying to keep her eyes open without getting water in her eyes. "I'll just ruin it!"

"You won't! Let us drop you off!" Eva said. "Eva please! Go to dinner!" Erin said. She took off her sweater and held it above her head. I knew I should have brought my other sweater..Erin thought.

"I'm counting to three, Erin. If you're not in the car by then.." Chris warned. "Schistad.."

"One!" "Im not a child!" "Two!" Chris said a little louder. "It's not going to work!" Erin shook her head. "Three!"

Erin rushed to the Mercedes and opened the door quickly. Chris turned back at her with a smug look on his face. "Shut up!" Chris faced back forward. He put Erin's address into his GPS and they were off.
