Chapter Two
Tifa Lockhart's Point of Veiw
I woke up and yawned. It was seven o' clock on a Saturday morning. I stretched, then swung my legs over the bed and got up.
I was seventeen, and going to a boarding school called Balamb Garden, and was rooming with another girl named Rinoa Heartilly.
I got dressed in my usual, a white tube top, a black skirt, and combat boots. I flipped my long brown hair over my shoulder, and tied it in a lose ponytail.
Rinoa was already up. She was wearing what she always wore; a blue rib-knit sleeveless sweater that had white angel wings imprinted on the back, a denim skirt, a necklace, and boots. Her hair was brown and shoulder length, and it had three caramel colored highlights in it. She had deep brown eyes.
"Hey," I said.
"Hi," Rinoa responded, turning to smile warmly at me.
"Is that new girl supposed to be started this week?" I asked.
"Yeah, I think so."
"So, Cloud will have a roommate."
"Mmhmm. And I still can't get over the fact the Squall had to room with Fujin."
"CONCURRED," I said, mimicking the girl. There was nothing that bad about Fujin, except she only said one word per a sentence and she hung out with the jerk Seifer Almasy. Other than her one word thing, she was very quiet.
"At least it wasn't Raijin, ya know?"

An Hour Later
Cloud Strife's Point of View
I laid on my bed after a restless night. I can never sleep anymore. It was eight thirty on a Saturday morning, and some students used it as an excuse to sleep in.
That new girl's coming today, I reminded myself. I wondered what she was like.
A knock on the door inturrupted my train of thought. I pushed myself out of the bed, left the bedroom, and went to the door.
"Yeah?" I called emotionlessly.
"It's Selphie!" a voice chirped. "And the new girl."
I answered the door to see a girl with long curly brown hair and purple eyes standing next to Selphie. She was wearing green pants and a purple fuzzy sweatshirt, and she wore combat boots on her feet.
"Hi," she said calmly.
"Hey," I responded.
"I'm Rayna Stone." She smiled.
"I'm Cloud. Cloud Strife."
"Nice to meet you."
"Yeah..."
I stepped out of the doorway, and Rayna smiled as she entered the room.
"Well," Selphie smiled, "see you later, Ray." Then she closed the door.
"Ray?" I asked.
"That's what people call me," Rayna sighed happily. "My dad started it."
"Okay."
"Which one's mine?" she asked, looking at the two bedrooms. I nodded toward the one that wasn't being used by me. She smiled, then entered the room.
She tossed her backpack onto her new bed, and dragged the carry-on over to a dresser near the end of the room. Then she started unpacking, so I left.

Rayna's Point of View
Cloud left, so I pulled my iPhone out of my bag and began listening to I had it turnend down enough, though, that I could hear someone knock on the door. I didn't answer it, though. Cloud did instead.
"Oh, hey Tifa."
"Hi," a girl's voice replied. "Is that new girl here?"
"Yeah, she's in her bedroom."
I put my last shirt away, turned my music up, then stood up. That's when a girl came in. She had long brown hair that was tied into a lose ponytail, deep brown eyes, and wearing a white tube top, a black miniskirt, and combat boots. She said something, but I couldn't hear her. I turned down my music.
"Sorry," I said, "I had my music turned up loud. Could you please repeat that?"
"I said 'hi'," she laughed. "I'm Tifa Lockhart."
"Hi," I said. "I'm Rayna Stone. You can call me Ray."
"Well, okay then. Has anyone showed you around the Garden?"
"Not really," I said. Selphie just brought me to the main office so I could finish being enrolled.
"Alright, can I show you around then?"
"Sure."
As we left, we brushed past Cloud. Tifa waved to him saying, "I'll be back to talk to you later."
As we walked down on of the corridors, Tifa turned to me.
"What are you listening to?" she asked. I decided to let her listen, so I took one of the earbuds out of my ears, gave it to her, pressed the "replay" button, and it started over. I turned it up so she could hear the words.
"You're probably going to think it's weird," I said. "The singer has a robotic voice."
Tifa shrugged. "I've seen things weirder, I bet," she replied.
Then the singing starts.
Who knows how time we got left?
For all we know this could be the end.
Might not live to see tomorrow.
Fate doesn't give us time to waste, so
Come on.
We'll keep dancing 'til we die,
'Til the sunlight fills the sky!
We'll keep fighting 'til we drop,
Fate could never make us stop!
We'll keep dancing 'til we die,
'Til the sunlight fills the sky!
We'll keep fighting 'til we drop,
Fate could never make us stop!
Tifa smiled. She apparently liked the song.
Nothing can stop this feeling tonight,
Gonna keep fighting 'til the sunrise.
Don't give a shi- what anyone says,
'Cause baby we don't got much time left!
So hold me close, and don't let go,
I want tonight to never die.
Right here, right now is all that counts,
We could be gone by the sun's dawn.
Come on.
"What's the name of this song?" she asked.
"'Fate'," I replied.
We'll keep dancing 'til we die,
'Til the sunlight fills the sky!
We'll keep fighting 'til we drop,
Fate could never make us stop!
We'll keep dancing 'til we die,
'Til the sunlight fills the sky!
We'll keep fighting 'til we drop,
Fate could never make us stop!
