"I am actually from the future." Katherine explained as the Torchwood team sat at the conference table.
"So what are you?" Jack asked leaning back in his chair studying the girl. She seemed familiar to him but he couldn't place her.
"First of all thank you for asking what not who." Katherine smiled. "I am actually... well it's complicated."
"Sweetheart we are Torchwood how complicated could it be." Owen asked leaning back in his chair.
"Ok do you want the short or the full version." Katherine asked.
"The full version please." Tosh answered
"I knew you were going to say that." Katherine smiled. "Ok well for let's see I was born human but after an accident I am now the time vortex in human form."
"What accident were you in?" Gwen questioned.
"I died, well only sort of." Katherine replied with a sigh this was hard to explain the anyone but her parents but this is a different time so they have no idea.
"How do you only sort of die?" Ianto asked Katherine now becoming interested in the conversation.
"I was thrown into the viod, which is extremly dangerous, so I died." Kathrine looked around the room for the team's reaction. "But then I woke up like it was the next morning when my younger sister came to wake me up. She said I awoke so gracefully she would have thought that i was dancing."
"So how exactly did you save Owen and Tosh?" Jack questioned.
"Well that is actually less complicated, I gave them some of the energy from the vortex." Katherine explained. "Jack you have come across this type of thing before with Bad Wolf."
"What is Bad Wolf?" Ianto asked.
