Leila's POV:
It was a Monday afternoon. I am upstairs in my bedroom, getting dressed for the day. You may be wondering why I am waking up this late in the day. Well, Miles and I got in late yesterday, so I went to bed really late. I made my bed and walked into my bathroom. I took a quick, but relaxing shower. I dried my hair off and went into my closet where I picked out an outfit to wear. I chose to wear a black crop top, with a floral skirt. I didn't bother to do anything fancy with my hair, so I just put it into a side braid.
I went downstairs and was greeted by Devin, who is carrying around his chew toy. I saw that the front door was open, so I walked outside and saw Miles, along with a couple of his friends. They were shooting some hoops together in the driveway. Miles was seated by one of his cars, while he took a breather. The remainder of his friends kept shooting hoops, while Miles was taking a break. Miles was dressed in grey sweat pants and no shirt, which revealed all of his tattoos. He smiled at me from across the driveway.
I walked around his friends, who were shooting hoops, and made my way over to him. I stood behind him and bent down so I could put my arms around him.
"What are you doing on the side lines?" I teased.
"Just taking a breather before I go back and start whooping them again."
I laughed at Miles' joke. I kissed him on the cheek and started walking away, when Miles grabbed me by the arm and pulled me back over to him. I sat on his lap and put my arm around him, so I wouldn't lose my balance and fall off.
"Yes." I said.
"I have a surprise for you."
"Really?! What surprise?" I asked.
"Meet me on the beach at 5:30." whispered Miles, into my ear.
I stood back up and went back into the house, while Miles played ball with his friends for a couple more hours. I tried so hard to distract myself with things in the house. Knowing that Miles had a surprise for me, made me so curious that I don't want to wait till 5:00 to see what it is. I distracted myself with cleaning my bedroom, bathroom, and certain parts of the mansion while I waited for it to become 5:30.
It is finally 5:30 so I started walking to the backyard, so I could meet Miles on the beach. I went past the guest house and pool. I walked down the steps, onto the beach and was surprised to find Miles in a button down shirt and shorts. He had set up a picnic on the beach, with lights surrounding the blanket. I smiled over at him and walked down the steps. I followed the path over to Miles. He got up on his knees and held out his hand. I quickly took it and we took a seat on the blanket.
"Miles, what is all of this?" I asked. "I don't think it is my birthday yet."
"I wanted to do something special for you."
"Well you definitely succeeded."
Miles poured each of us a glass of wine. He took out the plates and silverware from the basket, and began placing them on top of the blanket. He took out the food from the containers and served the food out. Everything was perfect. I couldn't believe he did this for me. We wasted no time digging into our food.
"Thank you for doing this Miles, it really means a lot." I said before I took a sip of my wine.
"My pleasure." replied Miles.
