Miles' POV:
I have finally been discharged from the hospital. I am so happy that I am out of the hospital and don't have to eat that terrible food. I heard about what happened to Leila's father. I was surprised to hear that Leila turned him into the police, after he shot me in the chest. I was simply going to let it go for Leila's sake, but she took care of business without me. I was so happy to see her beautiful face again. As we drove home together, she rested her head on my shoulder. She never let go of my hand and helped me the entire way. I am still pretty sore, but other than that I am perfectly fine.
I was brought into the bedroom, where Leila pulled the covers back, so I could climb into the bed. She turned on the TV for a little bit, while she went back downstairs to make me a homemade meal. I was excited to have regular food, that wasn't from the hospital. Leila came back into the bedroom with a tray of food. She closed the bedroom door behind her and brought the food over to me.
She climbed into the bed with me and we began eating our meal, as we watched some TV. I could tell that Leila was scared of losing me since the incident. She was always by my side and hardly left it. As much as I enjoyed it, I also needed her to know that things are okay now and that she doesn't need to follow me around.
"Leila, is everything alright?" I asked.
"Of course." replied Leila. "Why do you ask?"
"Well you haven't exactly left my side since the incident with your father." I explained.
Leila sat up on the bed and turned herself around so she could face me. Something was definitely bothering her.
"I was just scared of losing you, especially since-" started Leila, but then she paused.
"Since what?" I asked.
"I didn't want to tell you like this, but I have been experiencing some different symptoms so I went to the doctor's office and they ran some tests."
"Tests for what? What did the tests say?"
"Miles, I am pregnant."
My eyes widened by this shocking surprise. I wasn't disappointed at all. In fact, I was beyond happy. Leila was pregnant with our child. I was going to be a father and she was going to be a mother.
"You're pregnant!" I exclaimed. "Oh my gosh, you're pregnant!"
"Yes," continued Leila. "We are going to be a family soon."
I moved the tray of food to my side. I pulled the bed covers back and leaned in to kiss Leila on the lips. I put my hand on top of her stomach and pulled her close to me. I was the happiest person on earth right now. I couldn't believe the good news that I had just heard.
