Brooklyn's POV
The weekend spent with Hoseok was nothing but hanging around the house, playing video games and having dance offs, in which he won every one of them. Hoseok was an affable guy, and I adored that about him. He always had a smile on his face and was down for basically anything. By anything, I meant anything. The day before school he rented a car so that he would drive the both of us around, and take me to school because there was no way I was going to get into a car with Taehyung again... not after what has happened here lately. He probably has enmity towards me, but who knows.
6:30am
"Hey, why are we leaving so early," you groan. "To get breakfast before school," he simply replies. "I normally just eat at home-" "Well, not today! I want you to have an amazing day, so I'm going to start it off by taking you out to breakfast," he says, cutting you off. Shrugging it off, you climb into the rental car and go on your way.
It was now 6:50am and you had a good hour until you needed to be at school. We both decided on a nearby café and ordered the same meal: Scrambled eggs, French toast, bacon, and hash browns. Who knew how similar we were. With that, you eat the meal with occasional laughter and talk of this week's plans.
7:45am
"Hey, we better get going, there's fifteen minutes until school starts and it takes a good ten to get there, depending on traffic," you inform. As he nodded his head, he stood and threw both of your trash away, then took your hand and walked you out to the car. When he wasn't looking you stared at the intertwined hands and shook your head, while blushing intensely.
8:00am
Okay, well the late bell rings at 8:05am, thankfully, and we just pulled into the school. Glancing to your left, you see Taehyung and Scarlet holding hands walking to class. Whatever, it's nothing. Besides, there's Hoseok... Telling him a quick goodbye, you shut the car door and sprint to class.
With two minutes to spare you quietly sit in your seat and look forward. Both Scarlet and Taehyung were in my first block and there's no way I'm looking back at them. Who knows what they're up to, and I don't want to look at either one of them, regardless of the situation.
Taehyung's POV
"Hey, there's Brooklyn... she's usually here early. Who knows what she was up to," Scarlet giggles into my ear. "Shut up, I don't like her anyway... for all I care she can move across the world. Wouldn't hurt me a bit," you mutter. Yeah, that's a lie. It would kill me if she moved away, I would miss seeing her smiling face every day and- wait. I don't even see her everyday anymore. I haven't hung out with her in about a month since what happened. What am I saying? Scarlet kept slandering Brooklyn, and that made me even more angry. Not at Scarlet, but at Brooklyn for leaving me and letting a random guy live with her.
Brooklyn's POV
By lunch time, there was already a rumor spread that you and Hoseok, or "the mystery guy", were dating and I was sure that Taehyung was the first to know. I sat alone, and could feel the stares crawling on my back and all over my body. If only they would stop staring at me, that'd be great. Maybe I can just sit in the hall and have peace and quiet. Come to find out, that wouldn't work either.
Taehyung's POV
"Oh look, the whore is leaving. Maybe she's going to see that boyfriend of hers," she sneers. "Scarlet, I'll be back," I say without another word. I quietly followed behind Brooklyn and as soon as we were out of anyone's view, I push her up against a locker and question her. "What is wrong with you, Brooklyn? You're dating that random boy and now he's your little slave? Doing everything for you, taking you to school like I used to, going out to eat and everything else? I really don't understand what's wrong with you," you silently yell so you wouldn't attract the attention of teachers. "What's wrong with me? Oh my gosh, have you not seen what you've done to me! For Christ sake, Taehyung, you have me pushed up against a locker! That's no way to treat a girl," she bites back, wresting under my grip. Yet again, I push her back. "And dating that 'random guy'," she chuckles, "he has a name you know, and it's Hoseok. We aren't even dating, and if we were? Who are you to be my parent? I mean, just because you don't have yours around doesn't mean you can switch roles and try to be like them." Who is she to talk! Her parents aren't around either! "You bitch! Your parents aren't around either! And if you were dating him, don't you dare. You belong to me. Yeah? You haven't seen me mad yet, and I wouldn't want you to," you casually reply. "Taehyung!" Uh oh. "What are you doing with," she pauses, "her," Scarlet says while motioning to Brooklyn. "Nothing. Let's go. It's time for last block anyway," you boast and leave Brooklyn alone.
Brooklyn's POV
As soon as they left, you couldn't help the tears from falling to the ground. It wasn't long before they blurred your vision, and you thought to take out your phone to call Hoseok to pick you up before you were completely blinded by the waterfall of tears.
"Brooklyn, what's wrong? Why are you crying? What happened," Hoseok questions, concern filled in his voice. "Nothing, just please come pick me up," you croak, tears falling down even faster now. He agrees and says that he'll be there in ten minutes.
Hoseok's POV
As soon as I ended the phone call with Brooklyn, I ran to the car and sped all the way to the school. I'm pretty sure that I know who is the cause of her tears, and there's no way I'm going to let him get away with this.
Pulling into the school parking lot about seven minutes later, I search out Brooklyn and take her to the car. Not many words were exchanged, for I was carrying her as she let her tears spill on my shirt, and she, of course, was still crying. "Hey, Brooklyn, you're going to have to tell me who did this to you," I calmly tell her. Shaking her head and crying even more, she repeats the word no. There's no getting a response from her, I guess I have to take this into my own hands. I dropped her off at her house and sat her in her bed as I left the house yet again. This time, in search of that boy, Taehyung.
After about an hour or so of searching, I find him at the park with that girl. "Hey," I yell, "are you Taehyung?" Standing up, he nonchalantly nods his head. "Yeah, and," he replies sarcastically. "The hell do you think you are hurting Brooklyn? I had to pick her up from school and take her back to the house because of you," I'm starting to attract the attention of others now. "Oh, so this is her boyfriend, I see," the same girl from last weekend replies. I give her a quick side eye and say, "I'm not her boyfriend. We're just friends. Why does it matter to you anyway?" I wish I was her boyfriend though, but it'll take time. No reply from the girl, but from Taehyung. "Because you took her from me! You were the one that she totally ignored me for!" "Pft, what do you mean? She lost interest in you as soon as you started talking to Scarlet, and, by the way, Scarlet, you aren't that special," okay now I'm getting pissed. "So you're telling me that I'M the reason that she stopped talking to me? Or are you just trying to take the attention off the fact that it was really YOU who stole her from me," he questions. Shaking your head furiously, you state the reason why you're actually there. "Look man, the only reason I'm here is to tell you to stay away from Brooklyn. She doesn't need to be hurt because of you anymore. I'm tired of seeing her cry over someone so worthless when there's evidently people out there who would love to treat her like the queen that-" Your words were cut off by the heavy force of Taehyung, and the fist that came down upon your jaw.
