"Jiminie!" My girlfriend shouted as she ran to me. "I missed you."
"I did too." I said returning her tight hug.
If only I'd held her longer. And kissed her more often. Told her I loved her. Let her know that she was treasured.
"So what're we doing today?" She asked me.
"Well there's this amusement park." I answered. "I thought we could go there."
"That sounds so fun." She smiled and grabbed my arm.
I wish I spent more time at that amusement park...and maybe nothing would've happened to her.
"That looks like a fun ride. Hmm it says 'You never walk alone'." She pointed to a small carousel.
"You're right. Let's go ride it." I grabbed her hand and began to walk towards it.
Why did we have to leave so early?
*buzz* I looked at my phone and saw a text from Jungkook.
Hyung, you're needed at the studio right away. We need to adjust the song some more before the release next week.
I texted back saying I was on my way. "Hey I have to go back to the studio. I'm really sorry." I looked down at the ground.
"It's okay. You go on ahead." She said.
"No I'll take you home first." I said.
If only I'd insisted a little bit more.
"No I can grab a taxi. I'll call you later." She walked off.
I made my way to the studio and opened the door only to see the TVs turned onto the news channel.
"Young girl in terrible car wreck"
It was her. The one I love. Being hauled into the back of a emergency vehicle without me. I raced out of the studio to the hospital without a second thought. My heart was pounding faster than I could explain.
If only I'd told her to come with me to the studio.
"I'm sorry sir but..." The doctor's voice began to fade.
I ran to her bed side as I saw her heart monitor flat line. She was brain injured and was pronounced dead at the scene. I couldn't breathe for what felt like forever. I wasn't happy or sad. I was stuck. No emotion. Nothing. I was in shock.
I looked at a photo that her and I took at the amusement park and that's when I began to cry. I began to sob loudly, uncontrollably.
"I love you" I heard someone whisper. "Be happy and don't cry. Don't forget me."
"I won't...never..." I mumble between sobs.
