Arthur’s POV

“Mordred are you sure?” I asked him.

“Of course I am sire. You must do this for the good of the kingdom,” he said to me.

“Give my right up to the throne to Morgana. Why though? Don’t you think Morgana isn’t ready,” I said to him.

“I know she is ready but you sire I’m not so sure,” he said to me.

“I can’t give up my rights to the throne, not yet you must understand why,” I said to him.

“Of course I do sire. Its your decision and I can only advise you,” he smiled to me.

“Thank you for telling me what you think I should do. I will consider it,” I said to him. I got into bed and he put the candles out.

“I’ll see you tomorrow then sire,” he said before he left the room. I sat up in bed thinking. I use to trust Mordred with my life but recently he is acting odd and I never knew he would turn against me and say I wasn’t ready but my sister is.

I know my sister is not ready. I may not be ready as of yet either but she defiantly isn’t. She craves the throne too much and she is thinking of power but not of the people of Camelot and that is what I fear with my sister.

If I do give her the throne to make her not get angry at me or hate me for my own selfish ways or do I not let her have it for the good of Camelot? What can I do? What would you do? This is hard decision I can’t make lightly.

Merlin’s POV

Jake and I headed into the village. I was going to help him get his supplies. He had a bit of money but I had no idea how he got it considering he doesn’t work or anything but I didn’t want to dwell on that considering without Jake I would have no where to stay and no one to help me.

“You alright Merlin?” asked Jake.

“I’m fine thanks,” I smiled to him.

“That’s good. I’ll get my supplies in a few stalls, if you can go get me these bits on this list that will be very helpful. You get it from those three stalls. We’ll meet back here after,” he smiled as he passed me a piece of small parchment. I watched as he walked away and I headed in the opposite direction.

I arrived at the nearest stall and looked down at the parchment. “Can I help you?” asked a middle age man behind the stall.

“Yes I am looking for these ingredients,” I said to him as I handed over the parchment to him. I watched the man eye it up before he passed it back to me.

“I have two out of the six,” he said to me before he bent down vanishing from my sight. About a minute later he came back and passed me the two ingredients I needed. I handed him the coins over and he smiled.

“Thank you,” I said to him.

“My pleasure to help you,” he grinned. I moved onto the next stall and went through the same process. Once I reached the third stall I began to feel slightly sick but I had no idea why. As I went to pass him the parchment it fell to the floor and a moment later I found myself collapsing forward.

Memory

I slammed the door of the chamber before heading down the couple of steps hearing a dog park from within. I headed towards the exit of the chamber as an old man came into the room.

“Arthur’s fighting valiant!” he shouted at me.

“I know I’m on my way...oh and whatever you do don’t go into my room I’ll deal with it later,” I said to him as I rushed out the chamber.

“Merlin,” I heard someone say my name. I opened my eyes to find Jake kneeling beside me.

“Jake...I had another memory,” I said to him.

“We’ll talk about it later, come on let’s get you up,” he said as he helped me to my feet and we picked up the ingredients. Jake got the last two ingredients he needed before we headed out of the town getting quite a few odd looks but we didn’t care.

Once we got back to the cave he got me to sit down and he gave me something for the banging headache I had. “What happened?” he asked me.

I told him about what I had seen. “I think this Arthur is important somehow but I got no idea why. The old man, I think he is someone important to me too but I don’t know why,” I said to him.

“It seems your memory is slowing coming back Merlin. We just got to hope it all slots together and you remember who you are and why you ended up here,” he said to me.

“You are right,” I smiled to him.

Gaius’s POV

“What’s wrong Gaius?” asked Arthur.

“Sire I don’t mean to step out of line but I’m worried that you and Morgana may not be ready for the throne. I know in my heart you are more ready than Morgana is but I’m afraid your father is likely to die as I can’t cure him. All I am saying sire your heart is more in the right place then Morgana’s,” I explained to him.

“Don’t worry Gaius, I know that already .I’m afraid she isn’t ready yet either but I don’t want her to hate me,” I said to him.

“She will not hate you,” I said to him.

“You think so?” he asked.

“I can’t be completely sure but if she doesn’t then she isn’t worth the love you give her as harsh as that sounds,” I said to him.

“Your right but I don’t know yet Gaius.  I really need to think this through first,” he said.

“I know you do Arthur. Take your time.”

Morgana’s POV

“It’s almost time sister,” said Morgause to me.

“It should have been almost time a long time ago,” I said sadly.

“I know sister but it’s only a little longer now. You will make a fine queen and Arthur will allow you to have it. Arthur is your brother he’ll understand,” spoke Morgause.

“I do hope you are right because if not...” I cut short.

“I know sister don’t worry. Mordred,” my sister called. Mordred came into the room and smiled. He came over to me and I brought him into a hug.

“How are you?” I asked him.

“I’m fine. I spoke to Arthur and told him he isn’t ready to take over the throne but you are,” smiled Mordred.

“Great job Mordred,” I said happily.
