"Okay there are three rooms. One has two queens and the other two have one queen each. Obviously Heather Caleb Brad and I will take the room with two queens so it's between you four how you split it up." Kate is making dinner while Brad and Caleb start a fire outside.
"I call the couch." After analyzing the room situation I'm more comfortable on the small couch than a bed with a girl who hates me or a boy.
"Dibs on my own room." Beck salutes Mandy and Chad before slipping outside for the fire. Beck pops his head back in and looks right at me. "Oh and you can keep your stuff in my room and the bed will be open at all times."
Shaking my head at him I drag my bag to one of the spare rooms and kick the door closed. Each bedroom has one bathroom. Sucks for the shared room. I quickly shower off the sand and dried salt before letting the warm water rain on me.
"Fuck!" The bathroom door is ripped open then slammed shut. I swirl around and through the glass I see a figure. Beck. "Who is in the shower? God damn..."
"It's Daniella, what are you doing in here? I'm naked!" I turn off the water and pull down my towel to cover myself up. Peeking around the door I spot him clutching the sink counter tightly. "Wait are you hurt?"
"Relax I can't see. Brad's dumbass flicked a fireball at me and I think ash is in my eye." Running water Beck rubs his eye fiercely. I step out of the shower and quickly stop his hands. "What-?"
"Stop that. Sit down I'll help." I grab my essentials bag and dig for the eye drops as Beck sits on the toilet blinking fast. I tighten the towel around me and step up between his legs to inspect his eye. I tip his chin up and fight to hold his head still. He pats his legs making him move to much. "Okay I'm going to do something and you're going to be a good boy and do as I say okay?"
"Yes okay just get this shit out of my eye." Beck freezes one I grab his hands and put them on my hips. His fingers flex before tightening and feeling the towel that's covering my naked body. He is as still as ever.
"I learned that if you're in pain you can hold onto someone that is calm and you will in reaction calm down as well." My heart is slamming in my chest so loud I'm sure he can hear it. Not to mention my hands are shaking just the slightest bit. I'm obviously lying I figured he'd be so shocked he'd hold still. And I was right.
Pulling open his eye he tries to close it but I keep a grip. Without warning I blow as hard as I can into his eye making him jump back and let go of me. "What the hell Ella?"
"No no no. Sit back up." I pry his eye back open and with a cue tip I swipe the blackness from the corner of his eye. His hands grab my side again this time a little lower as I drop the liquid on the irritated eye. "And done."
I step back making his hands fall before opening the door and pointing his way out. He looks in the mirror with a sigh before turning back to me and looking over the short green towel. "Isn't that a nice color on you."
Pushing him out I shut and lock the door, now annoyed that the lock doesn't work.
I press my hands to my sides imitating the feeling of his but it's not the same. I liked his hands on me.
Shaking my head I quickly get dressed in a skirt and tank top before skipping out into the kitchen as I braid my hair back.
"Everyone is outside if you wanna hangout till the foods done." Kate and Brad are leaned against each other directing me to the door. "Is that my skirt?"
Looking down at the short skirt I tug on it to make it longer revealing stomach. "Yeah it definitely is."
"Wait don't change it! It matches your shirt perfectly." Kate grabs my arm and pushes me out of the open door. It's dark out, the breeze of the waves cools down the humid air and the sand is still warm. I love it.
Looking over at the circle around the fire I spot two blunts being passed around. I can smell it from here. But I don't see Beck...
I drag my feet across the sand till I wind up at the edge of the water. It's warm on my toes.
"Daniella." Swirling around to Chad I look him over unamused. He is high. And annoying. "Hi. I um-"
"No." Turning away from him I'm stopped short by him grabbing my arm. Gasping I rip myself away and cross my arms over my body.
"Please I want to talk." Chad takes another step towards me but stops short once I hold my hand up. "I want to talk about what happened you've avoided me since."
"What don't you understand about no-" turning around I smack into a solid chest. Beck. Looking up at him embarrassed he steps around me and leans in Chad's face.
"Scram Ordeal. The girl said no." He is demanding, not letting Chad argue in his own defense at all. Chad walks away with his head hung low and hands clenched at his sides. Beck turns towards me and smiles lightly.
"Thank you." I tuck a loose strand behind my ear and take a step towards him. Beck nods his head towards the way he must have just came.
"Come on I wanna show you something." He seems excited and I'm impressed with the amount of emotions he has shown me throughout these couple days. He use to only look at me from a far and not talk to me. Maybe because my only friend is Kate and he doesn't want to be seen talking to a loser.
"Okay." Nodding I walk with him down the waterline. After a mile of silence or so he sticks out his arm to stop me abruptly. "What?"
"Look down." Kneeling down he looks at little things wobbling in the sand. I crouch by him and see they are baby turtles. Making their way to the water. I gasp I awe and look to the mounds there they are coming. Jumping up I carefully tip toe through the sand and up to see w tiny dent in the ground with cracked eggs. I get down on all fours and lean over to see one struggling to get out from his open egg. Using another egg shell I push it over and help it slide out, laughing and it instantly starts wobbling the right way.
"Beck! Come here!" I wave him over and sit back on my feet. He was already looking and hops up carefully. Once he sits by me I point to the turtle making its way to the water. "How do they know to go that way?"
"What do you mean?" Beck looks me over confused as I stand up and motion for him to follow me. He does so without question and smiles down at me amused. His right eye red and irritated from before.
"Okay close your eyes."
"What?" Beck looks down at me confused as I laugh and grab his arms. "What exactly are you doing?"
"Just close your eyes!" After giving me a suspicious look he closes his eyes and smiles to himself. I slowly start to spin him and walk with him so he forgets what way we were facing. "Okay now hold still and tell me which way the water is."
Keeping his eyes close Beck listens closely. Pointing towards the water he opens his eyes and looks back down at me. "Now what?"
"That's no fair! Maybe they listen in their eggs and just know." I hypothesize while making a face at the turtles. Beck looks around before leaning close and motioning for me to lean in.
"Or maybe they are just smarter than you." He whispers making me smack his arm and roll my eyes at him. He chuckles as I close my eyes and hold my arms out. "Oh okay I see."
Spinning me around Beck stops and is silent as I listen for the waves. Pointing to the left I open my eyes and see I'm right. Raising an eyebrow at him I stick my tongue out at him and poke his chest. "Ha! My hypothesis has been proven."
"Okay okay Ella not everyone can be as perfect as you." Beck smiles at me while laughing as I do. He called me perfect...
And for once I feel like it.
