"Please be careful." My dad begged as he looked into my eyes, hands on my shoulders.
"Dad, I'll be fine. Noah said he's gonna sleep here in the guest room and we'll do homework." I reassured him. "You need this time away, plus Maggie will be stopping by like you asked."
"Alright, I love you." He smiled and kissed my head.
"I love you too!" I called as he walked out the door with his bags.Luckily for me, Brooke had invited our friends over. Lucky because no one else turned up and I didn't have to worry about cleaning up puke and whatever for the rest of the night. Brooke hadn't turned up yet and Emma was the only one with me.
"How are you?" Emma smiled slightly.
"Honestly? I'm...well, I'm getting better with the whole grief thing, as for coming off H. I'm struggling." I admitted softly and looked at Clyde who flopped onto my feet.
"You'll get there, and Will would be proud."
"Thanks, Em."A while after we ordered pizza, Noah and Audrey had turned up with Brooke and Jake, hiding behind the door to poke my head out so Clyde couldn't escape.
"You guys aren't scared of dogs right?" I raised an eyebrow.
"Well, not really." Noah frowned.
"Alright." I shrugged and pulled back for them to come in.As usual, my big dope of a dog decided to run around the corner from the kitchen and bound towards my friends and girlfriend who had jumped onto the sofa.
"Clyde, sit." The Akita obeyed. "Down." He obeyed again. "Play dead." He rolled onto his back and opened his mouth, tongue flopping to the side.
"That's not a dog, that's a monster." Noah huffed.
"Clyde is a sweetheart." Emma laughed as she walked out with a drink in her hand. "I remember coming over to play with him when we were kids."
"You lived in Lakewood?" Brooke frowned.
"No, my grandparents did though and Emma and Will were my friends growing up." I shrugged and wrapped an arm around my girlfriend happily.
"That's weird, I don't remember you." Brooke mumbled.
"That's because I kept to myself." I took a drink from my cup and walked to the door to grab the pizzas, seeing Kieran was actually the one at the door.
"Don't worry, I paid."
"Uh, thanks." I frowned and closed the door as he walked into the house. Most of the night was spent with Clyde showing off his tricks and drinking, so much pizza and of course memories, lots of memories.
"I remember when Will and Sierra tried to scare my mom by covering themselves in ketchup and all she done was hosed them down." Emma laughed.
"What about when Will and I got drunk for the first time and we called you?" I gasped and held my stomach from laughing so much.
"He was such a great guy." Jake sighed.Later in the night we decided to hit the hay, Audrey and Noah took the guest room, Emma, Jake and Kieran took the living room and of course, Brooke and I took my bedroom with Clyde faithfully by my side.
"So how do you fee-" I was cut short by Brooke pinning me to the door and kissing me roughly.
I moaned against her lips and picked her up by the thighs, carrying her to the bed and laying her down whilst we rolled around the bed, kissing and touching everywhere I hadn't noticed that Clyde left."Wow." Brooke laughed softly and cuddled into my side.
"I know." I smirked and kissed her head.
The text ringtone started going crazy which made my phone vibrate, I had to catch it so that it didn't fall and break.Unknown:
Look outside.I sat up, pulling on a pair of shorts and a sports bra before heading downstairs. I was half expecting so see my three friends in pieces, but they were perfectly happy sleeping on the floor and sofa. I nodded once and looked outside to see the door had opened.
Fear hit me when I realized Clyde wasn't at my side so I started swiftly walking into the kitchen.
My feet hit something warm, something that squelched beneath my feet. I gulped then looked down before switching the torch on my phone, the line of crimson followed a trail of what looked like intestines and my stomach squeezed tightly at the thoughts of who it could be.
I screamed when I saw the sight. So loudly that I woke everyone in the house up, even my neighbors.
Poor Clyde was under the tree in my back yard, tongue hanging out of the side of his mouth, guts all over the place with his eyes wide open in fear. His beautiful brown fur was coated in the sticky crimson substance.
"That bastard." I gagged and sobbed one after the other as I tried to pick some of the guts off the floor.Someone was going to pay for this.
