Please comment and tell me what you think. I did my best to grammar edit it :-) enjoy.

I lied my head down and he touched my face. I opened my eyes and he was just to my side. He grabbed my hand and took out my phone from his pocket. I grabbed it and sat up slowly. My back was leaning against the wall and Ace’s hand lifted his head. I turned my phone on and saw I had two texts from my uncle.

Text 1 - Sorry I didn’t get to you sooner I dropped my phone and it broke. The high school you are going to is called Soldotna high school. I hope you are enjoying your stay.

Text 2 – YOU GOT STABBED!!!!!!!!! I told you not to walk on your own in Alaska. I can’t believe you……uhhhhh ……well, I talked with my uncle and he wants you stay with whoever you’re with until he texts you to come to his house. I don’t agree with him, but whoever you’re with can watch you better than he can so I guess I agree. I’ll be calling you at 5:00 pm your time, Love you.

A smile came on my face because I know he still cares. I know I didn’t tell you this before but my uncle made me move with his uncle because my uncle is going to be dying in a few months from cancer, and he wants to be alone. I argued with him for months, but I know that’s what he wants so I’ll do it because I love him. I made him promise before he dies to call me. I looked at Ace who kept staring at me.

“You done being mad with me?” I asked him.

“No, but because I’m your friend I can stay mad for a little bit longer” he said with a smile. I shook my head and looked at him.

“The high school I’m going to is called Soldotna high school.” I said and a bigger smile came on his face.

“I’m going there.” He said kissing me on the cheek and ran down stairs. I lied back down and smiled. I touched my cheek where he kissed me and felt myself wanting him to hold me again. I told myself, ‘he’s my friend. I just met him; what about my rules? Uhhhh I hate myself.’ I smiled and fell asleep.

I woke to Ace rubbing my arm and saying something nicely.

“Hey, wake up; your uncle is on the phone” Ace said and I through myself up. I grabbed the phone and took a deep breath.

“Hey baby, how are you doing?” My uncle spoke and I just started crying, “I’m sorry baby that I’m not there to hug you.”

“It’s okay,” I said wiping my tears away.

“Stop being that tough girl who never cries, even though I got cancer doesn’t mean you can toughen up. “ My uncle said and I tried to smile. I looked at Ace leaning against the door way and I felt my heart flutter.

“Sorry, I don’t know how to get rid of this girl.” I said holding my tears back.

“That young man seems very nice.” My uncle said in a stern tone.

“Yeah, he is.” I said looking into Ace’s eyes and then to my hands.

“Don’t let him kiss you. Good girls can’t kiss till there married.” My uncle said even more stern.

“I know I haven’t even let him get that close” I said looking at the window.

“Is he handsome?” My uncle asked.

“I can’t say.” I said smiling and feeling reassured.

“Come on tell me what he looks like” My uncle said acting like a best friend.

“You are the greatest dad and best friend in one person. I don’t see why you didn’t find you’re someone.” I said trying to avoid the topic of Ace.
