A Potion Can Go A Long Way

~Chapter 4~

~The New Amy~

Sonic's P.O.V.

The day wasn't normal. She wasn't back to normal but she didn't hate me. It was like she didn't love me but she still liked me. I think the potion worked! It was exactly how I wanted it to be. Now if only everyone else didn't try to change anything. I just got in from a run. Amy was sitting on the couch with Shadow. Dejã vü. She was sitting a normal range away from him. I walked by and Shadow got up. Uh oh. I stopped at the bottom of the stairs. "You gave her another potion didn't you?" He asked me. "Yes" "she's not normal.." "how 'Not normal' is she?" I asked him. "Not by that much. Just a little bit different. Like how, she's not all over you, she's not that peppy, and she's like a normal girl" he explained to me. "Wow.." "I thought Emerald was responsible with her magic" "Hey! Don't blame this on Emerald" "she gave you the potion didn't she? She shouldn't have. You can't just interfere in people's lives by giving them potions, she should know that!" He held his face in his hand. "She helped me out, there's no harm being done here" "You can't just change people for you benefit!" He raised his voice. I flinched a bit at the sudden voice change. No one wants him angry. "I did both of us a favor!" I shouted back. Amy then came to the scene. "Hey guys, don't fight" she stood in between us. "I know you guys can't get stand each other, for whatever reason, but you can work this out. Fighting is not an option" I guess she could tell Shadow wanted to throw a punch at me. That's something about her. She could kind of read people. Especially Shadow for some reason. She turned towards Shadow, "cool it" she said to him. Shadow peered around her and looked at me. He then walked away. "Thank you" she said to him as he walked away. She then turned to me. "Try not to egg him on Sonic. Y'know he has a short fuse" she waved her finger at me. "Sorry" I felt like she was the mother of all of us. She always tried to solve our problems and tried to calm us down. "awe, Sonic" she walked over to me. She hugged me. Not a death hold hug, a normal warm hug. She let go quickly. "Next time I won't be there to save you from Shadow's rath" she joked. I laughed. "Yeah, I'll be careful next time. I'm sure I can handle him though" "he's worse than Eggman y'know" she reminded me. Wow, she is a little different. A good different though. She smiled at me and walked away. She wasn't all clingy, but she was still caring. She wasn't all that peppy, but she was still happy. She didn't love me, but she still cared for me. She was the same in a way. She treated everyone else the exact same way she would have, except for me. She treated me just like them, no more special. It was great. No one changed her back. I convinced everyone that it was a healthy change for her. They were 'Okay' with it. No one said anything or changed her back. We were all okay with the new Amy. I woke up the next morning to the smell of pancakes. I went down to the kitchen to see Amy cooking. She still liked cooking. "Good morning Sonic" she smiled at me. "Morning" I said and sat at the table. She put a pancake in front of me on a plate. I slightly frowned. Usaully she would make my pancake into a little Sonic head shape. It was just a normal pancake. "Is something wrong?" She asked. "What no, I was just.." I stopped. I put some syrup on the pancake. She was about to say something but then the rest of the gang walked in. "Hey Amy" many of them said while walking in. She smiled and gave everyone their pancakes. I finished and was about to walk out. "Leaving so soon?" Amy asked. I turned back, "yeah. Gotta run" I walked out. I went outside. I ran for awhile and came back when it was noon. I made it back. Usaully Amy would be standing at the door with her hands on her hips. Mad, sad, and happy with me. She wasn't there though. "How do you like being treated 'Normal'?" I heard Shadow say. I turned to see Shadow sitting outside. "Great, this is what I wanted" I said confidently. "Yeah? I think you liked all the attention from Amy and your missing it" "You don't know anything Shadow" I angrily said.
