Chapter 8

  "I lost my virginity..." her eyes got wide and she gasped "WHAT?!?!?!" people around the room looked at us, and I go felt really self-conscious "Shhh" I looked her and she took a glance around the room before leaning closer to me and whispered "who did you sleep with?" I looked down at my hands and twiddled my fingers, and said almost inaudibly "Justin" she frowned in concentration, then understanding, then her eyebrows shot up and the look of shock covered her face "What? Justin?" I nodded as I felt tears rush to my eyes, she went on to say "How did it happen?" I took a deep breath trying to push back the tears "We just got drunk, and then it happened I guess" "aww babes.." her sentence trailed off as she pulled me into a hug. A few tears spilled over as she rubbed my back "Kya Shaw?" I pulled back to see a nurse with a clipboard looking around the waiting room, I stood up "That's me" I quickly turned back to Janelle, with a worried look on my face "I will be right here, when you get out" I nodded and followed the nurse into the small room, she sat me on the bed/chair thing and walked out of the room.
Minutes ticked by slowly as I watched the clock, waiting for the doctor to arrive. After what seemed like hours, the doctor entered the room "Hi Kya, I'm Doctor Trish Harris" I nodded my head slightly as she went on "So, How old are you? And what are your symptoms?" I took in a deep shaky breath and avoided her eyes "I'm 17 and Well.. a month ago, I lost my.. virginity.." I swallowed hard and went on "..And for the last few weeks, I've been throwing up" her smile was kind, but her eyes were disapproving "So, you think you may be pregnant?" I nodded me head slowly, and she sighed then continued "I will run a few tests, so we can see if you're pregnant or not. And then, we will see what happens from there" I nodded my head again and she walked out the room, to come back a minute later with the same nurse that brought me here. The nurse took some of my blood then walked back out of the room with Doctor Harris.
I took a few deep breaths, getting more and more anxious as the seconds ticked by. I felt my phone buzz in my pocket so I got it out to see the text icon, I clicked open and saw that it was Justin..

Justin: Hey, what are you doing today?
I sighed and with shaky hands texted back
Kya: I'm at the Doctors with Janelle...
Justin: What?!? Why? Are you okay?
I closed my eyes and took in a deep breath
Kya: I'm fine Justin, it's just a check up, to see what's going on with me
I didn't want to lie to him, but I couldn't tell him the whole truth
Justin: okay, I hope nothings wrong, don't want my best friend being ill xxx
A small smile spread on my face. Justin was the best friend anyone could ever ask for

I put the phone away just as the door opened again and Doctor Harris walked in and sat down with a clipboard in her lap, she sighed before looking at me "Kya, the tests.. confirm that you're pregnant" I felt my stomach lurch and she went on "Now, We have quite a few teenage pregnancy's come through here, and we can talk about all the options you can choose and you can always ask for advice here. Everything we have on you, all the information is confidential. The test's show that you're 4 weeks pregnant, and the foetus is healthy" I nodded my head, my throat felt extremely dry "Thank you, Doctor" with that I got up and walked out of the room, tears streaming down my face, blurring my vision.
As soon as I walked back into the waiting room, Janelle stood up and hurried to my side, then instantly pulled me into her arms, silently, she rubbed my back "I'm pregnant.." I whispered "I'm pregnant.." I cried in her arms, standing in the middle of the room, people staring at us, but I couldn't care less. I didn't know how long we stood there, with me crying, but, I felt numb. I was pregnant, with Justin's baby. I had no idea what to do, what to think, or even where to start.
