We all have monsters,
Some more scary.
We all have monsters,
Some less caring.
Our monsters hide in nooks and crannies
Making our sleep haunted by many.
Many tears and muffled screams.
In the corner of your dreams
the monster threatens to unchain.
we all have monster,
Some harder to contain.
Monsters of the past,
Causing us to put on a mask
Monsters of the future,
daunting your actions,
diminishing your passions
We all have monsters
We can't escape.
Our monsters don't fear the man in a cape.
For our monsters are us
and all our mistakes.
We all have monsters,
even when we're awake.
