Seized

"Mommy look what I made for you at school!" my little Angie's voice broke the silence as she entered the house with her brother.

"Angie, keep quiet. She might be busy," Charlie said to his little sister. A little mumbling sound followed his statement before they both appeared in the doorframe of my study.

"Hello baby," I said to Angie as she jumped onto my lap, wrapping her small arms around my neck.

"Mommy look. I made a flower for you," she said, a large smile radiating off her face. I pinched her small irresistable cheeks before grabbing her little creation. After examining it, I smiled at her and hugged her tightly.

"I love it baby girl" I whispered into her ear. She giggled slightly as she hugged me tighter. Charlie's teenage frame was leaning against the wall as he looked at us with a bored expression on his face. "Just because you're 16 doesn't mean I don't get a hello young man," I joked as I walked to him with Angie in my arms.

I kissed him gently on his forehead and saw his lips curl into a smile at the gesture I used to do when he was younger. "Hey mom," he said, following me out of the study.

"So I was thinking we could order something tonight because it's your dad's special day," I placed Angie back on the floor and kneeled to be her height. "What do you say angel?" She nodded happily at the suggestion and Charlie continued to act too cool to care.

"Great. Now Charlie can you help your sister wash up?" I asked him as I stood up.

"Sure."

As they made their way up the stairs, I walked into the kitchen and called a Chinese restaurant. After making the orders, I walked into the living room and took a seat, grabbing the TV remote.

The sound of a key turning caught my attention and I walked to the front door. The door opened to reveal my husband dressed in his suit with a smile on his face. He walked in and closed the door, his smile widening as he looked at what I was wearing.

"Hey baby," I greeted him as I walked to him and wrapped my arms around his neck. He pecked my lips lightly before replying "hey babe." He leaned in and kissed me again, showing his love for me with the way he gently caressed my lips with his. We pulled away when we needed air.

"How was your day at work?" I asked, dropping my arms. Instead of replying he wrapped his arms around my waist and pulled me closely to him.

"I'd rather get you out of that sexy red dress of yours than talk about my day," he said, bringing his lips close to my neck. I bit my bottom lip as I felt his breath tickle my neck.

"Would you guys get a room?" the sound of Charlie's voice startled us and we broke apart.

"Sorry son," Aaron said as I straightened my dress, "it's hard not to do that when your mom is so beautiful" he continued. I rolled my eyes as I began to walk away. "Anyways how was your day at school? Anything new?" I heard him ask.

I slowly walked up the stairs on my way to Angie's room. A slight breeze caused me to rub the sides of my arms for warmth as I came to a stop before her room. I knocked a few times and told her I was coming in.

When I didn't hear a reply, I entered to find her window wide open but she was not in sight. I searched frantically through her closet, hoping she was hiding in there while playing a game of hide and seek with her imaginary friends.

But she was gone.

"AARON!!" I yelled when I couldn't find her. Tears began to stream down my face as I heard his quick footsteps as he ran into the room.

"Babe what's wrong?" he asked, concern padding his face.

"Angie...S-she's... gone..." I managed to say. I couldn't believe my little girl was gone. Taken from me. He ran to me and engulfed me in a tight hug as I balled. How could someone do that to another person? Charlie ran a hand through his hair as he tried to control himself but I saw a few tears escape his eyes as he looked down, missing his little sister already.

The wheels on the bus go round and round....round and round....

A little voice which sounded like Angie's echoed throughout the hallway, causing me to immediately stop crying.

"What was that?" I asked, softy pushing Aaron away. I slowly followed the voice until I reached our room which had the door closed. I gently turned the knob and opened the door, stepping inside as slowly as I could.

Sitting in the middle of the room was Angie, busily singing and playing with her toys. As soon as I saw her, I ran and engulfed her in a tight hug.

"Hey mommy." I began to cry happy tears as I held my little girl in my arms; glad that she was still with us.

The doorbell rang as I remained on the floor, clutching onto Angie.

"I got it," Charlie offered as he left the room.

"Come on, food's here" I said to her as I stood up, grabbing onto her hand and following Aaron down the stairs.

When we got there, the front door was wide open; letting in the cool air. We all walked towards it and saw a package of food on the ground with a note:

Thanks for your business

My baby had been taken away from me...

And this time it was real.
