She looked around until her eyes made contact with a pair of dark brown eyes. The owner of those eyes simply stared back at her, almost as if he was silently encouraging her to approach. Never one to back away from an invitation, she stood up and began walking towards him until she felt a hand wrap around her arm, pulling her back.

"Where are you going?" one of her friends asked her.

She simply pointed to person that she was walking to.

"Do you know him?" she asked her, causing her to shake her head as her lips turned into a smile.

"No, but I'm about to," she replied, slurring her words as her vision suddenly blurred for a moment before returning to normal.

"You're drunk, I don't want you getting close to that guy if you don't know him."

"Don't worry, he's not dangerous."

"How do you know?"

"It's just a feeling."

She shrugged her friend's grip off her arm and continued to walk towards him, stopping when her face was just inches away from his.

"Hey," she said, trying to sound as flirtatious as she could. She didn't miss the quiver at the corner of his lip as he held back a smile.

"Hey," he replied.

"Do you want to get out of here?" she asked.

"I just got here," he replied. She chuckled.

"I can tell that you're already bored of this place. This isn't your scene, is it?"

"No I go to clubs all the time," he replied, causing her to chuckle once again.

"You know, I've been watching you since you came in. And from the way you were walking around, I can tell that you don't like clubs that much."

She leaned in to him and whispered,

"I don't either; I'm just here because my friends dragged me here."

As she attempted to pull back, her vision blurred once again and she felt herself stumble. But to her relief, she didn't fall. Instead, she was caught by the stranger in front of her.

"I don't know you but I feel like you're with the wrong crowd."

She heard him chuckle.

"And what makes you say that?" he asked.

She looked at him with a thoughtful expression on her face.

"I saw the way your friends were acting around the girls here; almost as if they were predators hunting for prey. But you, it was almost as if you were avoiding the girls. And why is that?"

He opened his mouth to speak but before he could say something, she interjected by asking,

"Do you have a girlfriend? Is that why?"

Once again, he chuckled as he shook his head, causing a smile to light up her face.

"That means I have a chance then."

The moment those words left her lips, her vision blurred once again and she stumbled once more.

"Are you okay?" he asked, concern laced in his words.

Before she could reply, he held on to her and began to walk with her to the exit.

"Let's get you out of here."

A few moments later, they were outside. The cool night breeze bit at her skin, causing a shiver to run down her spine.

"Here," he said as he took off his jacket and placed it around her shoulders, causing her to smile.

"Should I get your friends? I think they should take you home."

She shook her head.

"It's okay, I don't want to ruin their night just because I'm a lightweight. It's okay, I'm staying at a hotel near-by."

"Do you want me to walk you to your hotel?" he asked.

"Sure, I'd like that."

They walked in silence for a few minutes until they reached the hotel that she was staying at with her friends. In that short walk, she had managed to stumble several times, causing him to make the decision to just hold onto her the entire time.

He continued to hold on to her, surrounding her with the warmth of his body and the comfort of his cologne. They entered the hotel and walked towards the elevator. He pressed the button to call the elevator and within moments, it arrived.

She placed her foot inside and turned to face him.

"Do you want to come up?" she asked. He looked taken aback for a moment before his expression returned to his normal expression.

"No I don't think that's a good idea but thanks for the offer. I just wanted to make sure you were safe."

She nodded as she took his jacket off her shoulders and handed it back to him.

"Thanks a lot, for making sure I was safe."

"My pleasure."

He turned around to leave but before he could get far, she held on to his hand, causing him to turn back around.

"Please don't go, I don't want to be left alone."
