Her Fear

She stood there.

Silent.

Observing.

Everywhere she looked,

People were moving.

Some were running while others just simply walked.

She wanted to join them

But something was holding her back.

Her fear.

She knew what would happen if she did what she wanted,

Or at least she thought she did.

But there was no way of knowing without trying.

She attempted to take a step,

But it was holding her back.

All she wanted was to be free,

From it.

But no matter where she went,

Or what she did,

She could never break the hold that it had on her;

For it was much too strong.

But for her to move on,

She would have to move forward.

Away from her fear.

Of being alone.

Being left behind.
