Me and Lottie had become best friends, always laughing and joking around, I found out that Lottie has a kind, playful attitude and is always up for good dares, as for me, I grew up to be a shy, but kind person who always puts other people in front of myself.
As Lottie and I walked home together, clutching our books in our hands, I had just remembered that it was my 13 birthday, I was so excited, especially the cake part and I guess the presents :) All ever wanted was to get both my parents back, but that's never going to happen, even though I stay up late at night and wish it on a shooting star, they're beautiful.
When we got to My stepmoms house- (Cani), Lottie told me to wait outside the door, and so I did. Beside me was the garden, so I put my Bag down and picked at the grass. Blossom petals floated down onto my shoulder silently and swiftly, the rose bushes rustled slightly in the wind, I could smell the deep sea breeze on my face, it felt like it was beckoning me to come to it and it was tempting, but the door swung open, No one was holding it as I got up and went inside, closing the door behind me. I looked up, surprised by how much Lottie who is basically my sister(stepsister) and Cani cared about me having my birthday, I was flattered, the walls were covered with decoration that was covered in glitter, Presents were on the table, set in and order from biggest to smallest and a box which I assumed was the cake that was also on the table.
"Gosh, did you guys really do all if this for me?"I asked
"We obviously did," replied Lottie and Cani, smiling.
"Wow thanks, I don't need presents every year,"I said. Lottie and Cani looked at each other in confusion.
"We'll if you don't want presents, we're just going to have to make you have presents," laughed Lottie.
"We'll umm thanks again anyway,"I said.
We all had a group hug and then it was time for me to open my presents. I opened the big presents first cause that's just what I do, just because something's big doesn't mean it's the best thing. I had gotten quite a lot of crafting things from Cani which I was hoping I would get because I absolutely loved making things, Interesting books from Lottie and a necklace that said "Best sisters forever"- I loved it. I was opening some of my small presents When I came across this perfectly wrapped one, that was most probably from Cani. I carefully unfolded the wrapping paper, it felt like foil, it was a small box but it was quite big for being small- If what I said made any sense. I opened the box... I was stunned with joy, Lottie and Cani were waiting for my actions, looking at me and I gave them my actions alright- I squeaked happily and jumped onto Cani, hugging her and then the same to Lottie, squeezing the breath out of both of them, I looked back down at my present, it was an iPhone. I looked up at my new family again, smiling and beaming with joy, Lottie had one and now me.
"THANK YOU!!" I cried. I set my iPhone safely onto the table, making sure I didn't scratch it. There was one gift left, it was smaller than any of the ones I saw, the wrapping paper was soft and velvety, I stroked my finger on it, it was so soft, I untied the ribbon that was keeping it together, I pulled at the string. I unwrapped it and it wasn't like anything I have seen before, I wrapped my fingers around my present, it was a necklace, a real pearl necklace, inside the pearl you could faintly see a red diamond, how was that possible? I shrugged it off. "Guys, I said, this is the coolest thing I've seen, thank you so much for this and all of the other presents,"I said
"it's our pleasure," replied Cani. "Something's telling me that we should eat some cake now," said Lottie. I nodded eagerly in agreement, as I was already putting out the plates.
