"Kristen?" A voice whispered in my ear.
"Dad?" I mumbled and held a pillow against my chest.
"No, it's Adam. I just wanted to say I'm sorry about what happened at the party last night, but Calum's doing ok. He's not badly hurt," Adam said quietly. I'd forgotten all about the party. Oh lord.
"It's ok," I smiled and looked at the ground to see a sleepy Calum. Adam nodded and headed out the door. I'd fallen asleep on the couch. "Calum?" I whispered and shook his shoulder. He rolled over and looked into my eyes.
"Yes?" He asked and sat up.
"Oh my, are you naked?!" I gasped and covered my eyes.
"Oops," he giggled and pulled the sheets up over his bare body. I couldn't say much, really, I was only wearing underwear.
"Your jaw looks better," I smiled and placed my hand on his cheek.
"Thanks to you," he grinned. I remember cleaning up his wound when we arrived back at my place last night.
"Calum.." I said quietly and shifted my eyes to the object lying next to him. "Is that a condom?" I giggled.
"Oh, yeah. Just incase I need it," he blushed.
"You're staying at MY house, I don't think you'll be needing it," I laughed and ruffled his hair.
"Thats exactly why I might," he smiled.
"Calum Thomas Hood-"
"Oh, what are you going to say?" He groaned and rolled his eyes.
"That I..." I whispered. Calum's eyes widened. "I think you should go put some pants on," I grinned. Calum cocked his head to the side and smirked.
"Ok," he said and stood up with the blanket wrapped around him, "but I think you should keep yours off," he smiled.
I watched carefully as Calum walked down the stairs. He was wearing a band shirt and tight jeans.
"Are you going somewhere?" I asked and sat up on the couch. Calum ran his fingers through his hair.
"Yeah, there's this party down the road.." He said quietly.
"Oh," I answered. I think he could sense the disappointment in my voice, although I hoped he couldn't.
"I'll see you tonight... I won't get too drunk," he smiled and threw his beanie at me. "I'll be home by 10, ok?" He said. I watched as he shut the door behind him. I heard him start the engine of his car and couldn't help but feel lonely. I bet he's going to hook up with girls, loose his virginity and get super drunk. Great. I decided to call Adam to see if I could go round to his place. It feels too empty here without Calum. Is that weird?
I knocked on Adams door with my arms full of movies and food. Adam opened the door and stared at me.
"Well, are you going to help me?" I laughed. He took a bunch of movies out of my hands and walked to his room. I followed close behind. I collapsed on his bed and watched as he fiddled with the tv.
"Why aren't you with Calum?" He asked after taking a bite into his apple.
"Am I supposed to be?" I smirked. He turned around to face me.
"No, I just thought you guys were inseparable now," he said.
"It's Calum we're talking about..." I laughed.
"Yeah, don't worry, I know you'd much rather spend time with me," he joked. I punched his arm lightly.
"He's not what I thought he'd be like," I said quietly and looked out the window.
"Is he even more of an asshole than we know he is?" Adam teased.
"Not at all," I said.
It was 10:30pm when I woke up, and I was still at Adams house. My mums probably worried about me. I wrote a little note to Adam and left it on his desk. I tiptoed to my car and started the engine. It was almost 11:00 when I got home, I carefully turned the door handle and snuck into the house. The lights turned on and I saw Calum standing in front of me.
"Calum?" I whispered. He looked down at his fingers and started doing that thing he does when he gets nervous.
"Why weren't you home?" He said quietly. I could hear in his voice that he had been crying.
"Are you ok?" I asked and placed my hand on his cheek.
"I- I thought you were hurt," he said shamefully.
"No, I was at Adams and I fell asleep," I explained.
"Fell asleep with him?" He asked, slightly angry.
"No!" I shrieked but quickly covered my mouth so I didn't wake anyone.
"Sorry," he sighed.
"How was the party?" I asked with a forced smile.
"It sucked, everyone was making out and I couldn't help thinking-" he paused and ran his fingers through his hair. I nodded for him to continue, but he didn't.
"Well, that's unfortunate," I said.
"It really is, especially when you don't have the chance to make the girl you love happy," he sighed.
"What do you mean, Cal?" I asked.
"Nevermind, goodnight Kristen," he smiled and walked into his room.
