Chapter 20: Proper send off

Once I woke up, I couldn't move. I look over at the cause of my problem to see my very sexy boyfriend fast asleep. He looks so adorable it's unreal I thought to myself. I lay there for how many minutes I don't know. I reached over to the nightstand grabbing my phone. I may or may not take a picture or two. He's too adorable not too.

The big and final game was today and I just knew it was going to be hard for him. Just seeing the way he is loved and loves his team so much it sort of hurts my heart to think how hard this is going to be for him. I lay there for a little bit longer before Derek's grandfather and Dad and also to my surprise, his uncle Peter came barging into the room. "Derek!!!" Peter said in a sing along voice. I hear Derek groan and shift trying to sleep some more. "Derek get up!" This time his grandpa was trying to get him up.

I could hear a faint growl come off Derek. Which was surprising and very exciting and might I add very sexy. "DEREK HALE YOU WILL NOT GROWL AT ANYONE!" His Dad yelled getting a little angry. His eyes turning a bright red just like Talia's. I could feel Derek tense and let out a little whimper as his dad yelled at him. "son it's okay we all know that Derek isn't a morning person" his grandpa said with a chuckle and looking over at his grandson with a loving look.

His dad huffed "fine but still Derek get up" he said all I could hear was a muffled ' no ' coming from Derek. I looked over at Peter who had a look on his face, which I could tell he had an idea and I don't think that Derek is going to like it very much. Just as I finished thinking, that Peter grabbed Derek with his inhuman strength, throwing him over his shoulder and running out the room.

I quickly followed them as I see Peter run out the door. I could hear Derek's loud protests and his cursing as he ran to the pool that was located in the backyard. With all the commotion, that was going on Talia and the rest of the family followed suit. Cora came to me grabbed my hand and we both ran to see Derek being thrown off peters shoulder and into the pool. When Derek came up and got out of the water, I could immediately tell that he was pist. Peter ran away laughing as Derek ran after him. Peter ran and hid behind Talia. What a coward I thought as Derek stood in front of his mother. "Derek honey go change into something dry and go for your pregame run with your father and I will deal with peter" she said calmly, Derek nodded and ran inside. Talia grabbed Peter by his ear and pulled him instead. Everyone was laughing as we all heard Peter's cries for Talia to stop.

Moments later Derek ran outside with his running shorts and shoes on but no shirt. I walked over to him and gave him a hug, which he returned. "Have fun," I told him as I gave him a quick kiss before he ran off with his dad for his pre-game run. There were only a couple hours until the big game.

It was not long before Derek returned and needed to get ready for the game. Before I knew it, we were in the car going to the big game. Once we got there, we went to get seats as Derek ran to the locker room. Once we had gotten our food and pops, we sat down. The bleachers were packed I think everyone knew that Derek would be playing because it is packed. Many people came over and said 'hi ' and many things along that line. Before I knew It the game was about to start. A person over the intercom called out the teams. Derek leading his team out to the field. It was such a great sight to see his teammates running with him clapping him on the back. I could see Derek's grin from here.

The crowd was going wild. This is going to be a great game I thought as Derek looked me in the eyes and winked. I blushed when Cora knocked her shoulder into mine.

It was the first play of the game. Derek's team with the ball I could see Derek making weird hand gestures right before the play started. "Good choice " I hear his dad grandpa and uncle talk about the game. I turn my attention back to the game as the ball was snapped back to Derek. He wound up and threw the ball to his teammate that was half way down the field causing him to get a touchdown within the first 20 seconds of the game. The rest of the game went like that. Derek's team beating the crap out of the other team 56-10

I watched as his team hoisted Derek up in the air giving him the proper send off that he deserves. It was an emotional sight Derek had the biggest smile I have ever seen on his face as he looked up into the sky. I also think that I could see tears running down his face. I took out my phone and took a picture. It was the most beautiful picture I have ever seen capturing the moment perfectly. I could also see a guy that looked like he was a photographer or from the news take a picture when he looked at the picture he had taken, he smiled. I looked over at Derek's family and saw that each one of them had tears on their face almost everyone at the stadium did

It was by far the best thing I have ever witnessed. And I will cherish the memory for as long as I will live
