Alex sat against the outside of the tavern in the ally, Max was pressed against her side as she threw a ball at the wall in front of her and catching it. Alex caught the ball before checking her watch.

“Late, of course,” she sighed. It was nearly seven and the sun was starting to set. Alex went back to her previous activity as she waited for her partners to show.

Throw, catch, throw, catch, the rhythm echoed in her ears. The time was now seven-thirty.

This was probably some hoax.

Alex caught the ball when she heard footsteps approaching her. She put the ball in her pouch before placing a hand on her Baretta. Alex’s grip tightened as the sound grew louder. Two men rounded the corner before Alex pulled her gun.

“Woah, we don’t want any trouble,” the one with brown hair said. The other one drew his Ak-47, pointing it at her.

“Put the gun down or I will shoot you,” the ginger said, the brown haired one put up his hand.

“Calm down Zach, we can talk this out,” the brown haired one said. Alex pushed herself into a standing position causing Max to stand up and growl at the new comers.

“Names,” Alex demanded. The red haired one, or Zach, scoffed.

“Like hell, you tell us yours first,” Zach said.

“I asked you first, now. What. Are. Your. Names,” Alex growled out through her clenched teeth.

“I’m Adam,” the brown haired guy said, gesturing to himself.

“This asshole here, is Zach,” Adam said, pointing to the one with the gun aimed at Alex’s face.

“Alex,” she stated, slightly loosening her grip on her gun. Zach lowered his gun before Alex lowered hers.

“Max, search ‘em,” Alex said, nodding towards the two males. Max let out a small bark as he walked over to them and begun his searching.

“You get that dog away from me,” Zach said through gritted teeth, clenching his fists. Max moved on to searching Adam signaling that Zach was clean. Max begun searching Adam, his hands were behind his back. Max barked twice indicating that Adam now held a gun.

Without any warning whatsoever, Alex put her gun away and lunged at Adam, kicking his feet out from underneath him, sat on his back and put a knife to his throat. Zach immediately had his gun trained on Alex. Adam smirked.

“Who exactly are you?” he asked, amusement laced his voice.

“Whats it to you,” Alex said, pressing the knife further into his throat.

“You got the assignment?” he questioned.

“Yeah, what about it,” Alex asked, then it dawned on her, Adam and Zach, the names of the two people she was supposed to meet.

“You the amazing duo I’m supposed to meet,” Alex asked, well, more like stated.

“Yup,” Zach said
