She continued to laugh as darkness continues to envelope her surroundings.

"Who would be crazy enough to walk at night and in the middle of nowhere anyway? And it's already past Halloween for crying out loud!"

Felicity was laughing at the thought of how ridiculous it would have been if what she saw would have been real. A horror fan who didn't believe in ghosts. The irony of it all. She increased the volume of the radio.

"We didn't start the fire..It was always burning..Since the world's been turning.."

This time, she was singing out loud with the song. As much as she would love this to be just another ordinary and happy roadtrip, fate would sometimes take us to a road less traveled and sometimes it would be anything but ordinary or happy. It was too late by the time saw it as she was somewhat preoccupied with her own sing-along session. There was no way to tell whether it was a person or an animal, a man or a woman, young or old when her car slammed into it, right in the middle of the road. Her vision only manage to capture a body, somersaulted into the air and over her car before landing hard on the road behind her. Suddenly, there was a loud screeching sound.

Luckily, she was wearing the seatbelt when her body jerked forward from the momentum of her moving car. Her heartbeat increased as she began to feel a cold sensation running through her body. Her hands, stuck to the steering wheel and she was staring dead ahead. She immediately turned off the radio.

"What..what..the..did...did I just saw..did...did..did I just hit someone..?"

Even in her mind, she was stuttering. She was barely comprehending the fact that she might have just killed someone. The road was getting darker and even with her perfect eyesight, it would still be possible for one to miss out something or someone as big as the one that she just hit. For some odd reason, she was too afraid to turn around and confirm its existence. Deep down, she was probably afraid of the ugly truth, that she had killed someone. Taking a few deep breaths like she always did, she closed her eyes for a second before opening it again and turning her head slowly. The expression on her face became more dreadful.

The lifeless body was a couple of feet from where she stopped. Due to the lack of light, she can barely make out whatever she was looking at.

"What should I do? What should I do?" She was getting anxious.

Even part of her was telling her to hit the pedal and just leave all this behind. She wasn't about to let one bad judgment be the death of her conscience.

"I never ran any from challenge and I'm not about to start now. Do the right thing Felicity. Do the right thing."

She took more deep breaths while closing her eyes before she finally took off her seatbelt and unlocking her door. She didn't even realize that her body was still slightly trembling from the shock as she got out of the car and stood beside it. The body was still there.

"Hmm..Hmm.." She was still hesitant of what to do next.

Finally, she started walking towards the body in her high heels and knee length skirt. It will take a few more steps before she can make out some of the details about the body. A couple of seconds later, she stopped. She finally got a clearer view of the person she just hit. The body was wearing what looked like a long dress and it was lying on its back. Therefore, she couldn't see its face.
