Will's POV
The sun battled through the trees and the through the tent. I groaned, yet I still got up. The light burned my eyes, and I sat up. My arm hurt from laying on it. "Morning Am," I groaned again.
No one answered. I opened my eyes and the tent was empty. Then I remembered what I heard last night. A scream, and the scream must've been Amber. Oh shit, I thought. I grabbed my dad's journal and began to flip through it furiously. I can't lose Amber, I never told her I loved her. The more I read through the book, the more I learned. The monster could be many things, but one seemed to be the closest. A Wendigo. I grabbed my gun and ran out of the tent, well I tripped out of the tent. I had a theory I had collected from my dad's journal. I grabbed a bottle of alcohol and a lighter. Even though I didn't know where Amber had been taken I knew this much no matter what I was going to find her. The bottle had a cloth stuffed into neck of it. The forest was quiet way too quiet. "Am, where are you?" I asked aloud.
There was a small path of blood which was placed on the trees. I followed the path and kept an eye out for the Wendigo. Well then again my dad wrote in his journal that they are invisible at times. That was one thing that made the job harder. "Will help me!" Amber's voice yelled.
"Where are you Am?" I yelled.
"Help me!"
This wasn't Amber it was the wendigo. I had learned that the Wendigo can imitate voices. I began to run to the cave which was in the opposite direction of the Wendigo. The cave was dark and it smelled like rotting corpses. Please not Amber, I thought. The further I went into the cave the more it smelled like rotting corpses. I heard a whimper from deeper inside the cave. I'm not sure how I could tell the difference between Amber and the Wendigo, but somehow I could. To me this was a gift and I'm pretty sure it could help it the future. Heavy breathing filled the cave; the Wendigo was back. I dodged into the corridor, beside me. The breathing of the animal had grown closer which wasn't helping my heart beat. As my heart beat rapidly, I heard some shuffling behind me. When I turned around there it was. It lunged at me as I jumped back and began to walk away. "Hey buddy can we just talk this out?" I asked.
It growled and lunged again. I, on the other hand, ran away from it. Then I remembered that I had alcohol and a lighter, which should put the walking piece of firewood on fire. The only thing I could do now was run away from it and try to light the Wendigo on fire. I turned around and saw, no more like heard it coming up behind me. I used my gun and fired at the direction I thought it was. A painful scream filled the cave, one that sounded inhuman. I took my chance and lit the bottle and through it. The bottle crashed into the Wendigo and it began to burn up, I watched it burn. After I knew it was dead I ran off to find Amber.
