Will's POV
"This is gospel for the fallen ones
Locked away in permanent slumber
Assembling their philosophies
From pieces of broken memoriesOh, this is the beat of my heart, this is the beat of my heart
Oh, this is the beat of my heart, this is the beat of my heartThe gnashing teeth and criminal tongues conspire against the odds
But they haven't seen the best of us yetIf you love me let me go
If you love me let me go
'Cause these words are knives that often leave scars
The fear of falling apart
And truth be told, I never was yours
The fear, the fear of falling apart," I sang softly, hoping Amber didn't hear.It was one of my personal favorites, but I never put it on a CD. I was too afraid of what everyone would think. The person who sang it had a wide vocal range and to my surprise I could hit the notes correctly. Each time I did that I felt a wave of pride wash over me. "Will!" Amber called knocking on the door.
"Yeah?" I asked feeling embarrassed.
"Are you almost done?"
"Yeah," I replied turning the water off and stepping out of the shower.
"By the way I love your voice."
My face grew hot after she said that, I grabbed my brush and quickly brushed my hair. Then, I pulled it into a small ponytail for the seconded time since I met Amber. After I dried off I put on my jeans which had rips in the knees and my green T-shirt. I walked out and saw Amber sitting on the bed wearing one of my jackets. To be honest she looked adorable. Memories from the night before came crashing down on me. The realisation hit me, the hook, the hook. The bones didn't have a hook with it, which meant there was something important missing. "Amber," I said seriously.
"Hmm?" She responded while reading a book.
"We need Jessica's necklace right now or else everyone else is going to die."
"Why do you say that Will?"
"Because every relic of the haunting person needs to be destroyed, otherwise they will keep haunting people."
"Then what are we waiting for? Let's go find that gurl," mimicked Amber.
"Your not going to let me live that down are you?" I replied giving her a sideways grin.
"Hell no."
We got in the car and drove to the church and found Jessica there praying or something. I walked up to her and placed a hand on her shoulder. "Jessica, I need you to do me a favour," I said kindly yet sternly.
"What do you need?" She asked standing up from the kneeler.
"I need your necklace, trust me it's a matter of life or death."
She nodded and handed it to me then I turned around ready to leave. However, an odd wind blew through the building, chilling me to the bones. The front doors opened and there he stood swinging his hook. "Run," I whisper shouted.
With that said we all took off running down stairs to find a fire place. When we did I realised I had no lighter. In the room there was a desk, quickly I rummaged through it and searched for for a lighter. To our luck there was one, I took it and started a fire. The door swung opened wildly and popped off the hinges. Hook man appeared in the doorway as I tried to get the fire to start. Jessica screamed while hook man pulled her away. "No! You can't have her!" Amber yelled shooting it with a salt gun.
I threw the necklace into the fire it took forever to melt. While it melt hook man grabbed Amber's foot. "Ahh! Will help me!" Amber screamed.
"Am!" I yelled back.
She tried to kick the ghost off her, but her foot went right through it. He began to fade and bursted into flames and disappeared. All of us breathing heavily as we tried to catch our breathe quickly so we could get out of here. "Thanks for letting us use your necklace, sorry we can't give it back to you," I said threw breathes.
"It's okay," Jessica smiled.
"I'll get you a new one if you would like," Amber offered.
"It's fine, I promise," Jessica reassured her.
