Will's POV
My heart skipped a beat when Amber said she'd want to be my girlfriend. She didn't know what happened to my last girlfriend and I prefer to keep it that way. I itched my head again as a force of habit for when I was nervous or stressed. Slowly I felt my eyes close shut fully. The next morning I saw Amber asleep on her bed. She was close to the edge, so I moved her to a less precarious position. Then, I went out and got muffins and coffee. The grass was wet from the morning dew, and the sun shown brightly. I could only imagine the sun reflecting off Amber's hair. "Dad, I'm eighteen and I'm old enough to take care of myself!" Yelled a girl.
"You think that Jessica, but guess what your not. Since your boyfriend died you've never been the same," called an older man.
Jessica? Jessica. Jessica! It's her; it's the girl we need to find. I ran back to the hotel and woke Amber up. "Am! Am!" I said loudly.
"What?" She mumbled sleepily.
"I found Jessica, so we need to move fast and talk to her."
"Okay," Amber replied stretching.
I handed her a banana muffin and coffee. She took them and mumbled thank you. Then I grabbed my knife kit and took it out to the car. As I waited for Amber I decided to draw, so I grabbed my journal and flipped to the back. I began to draw a flower, but it turned into Amber with a flower in her hair. Her hair was perfectly drawn and her smile was beautiful. A small tap on the window scared me. Then a small giggle escaped the girl's mouth. "Don't do that Am!" I whispered-yelled at her playfully.
"Then unlock the car," she replied smiling.
I closed my journal and unlocked the car door for Amber, who waited impatiently. She climbed in and looked at my lap, which is where my journal laid. "What were you doing?" I asked.
"Uh, nothing," I replied scratching my head.
"Liar!"
"Okay it's a surprise."
I started the car and began to drive to the girls home. Amber played with her hair, and stared out the window. When we pulled into the driveway I saw Jessica sitting on the door step. We got out of the car and walked up to Jessica. "Jessica Charmical?" I questioned.
"Yes," she replied wiping her eyes.
"Okay that's great, for a second I thought we found the wrong person."
"Are you new students?"
"Yeah, mind giving us a tour around campus?" I asked kindly.
"I'd love to!" Jessica replied beaming.
"Is it okay if we ask you some questions about your boyfriend?" I asked hesitantly.
"I-I guess," mumbled Jessica.
"What did you hear that night?" Amber asked finally breaking her silence.
"Oh god this is going to sound crazy, but there was a scratching. Along with a mysterious pounding on the roof of the car," Jessica stated almost unfazed by it.
"I'm sorry it must be pretty hard for you," I said sympathetic.
Jessica finished giving us the tour around campus and then we left.
