Autumn is 15Loud hits pounding against the door, synchronized with the pounding in My head. My aunt would not stop. Even though many people have put their complaint in to the landlord,
nothing could stop Robin when she was this determined.
I had had enough.
I opened my bedroom door, and walked fast to my main door, and threw it open."What do you want?"
I groan, and feel a pained look taint my expression.
My hand against my head, as if it would make the pain stop."Autumn, please, let me talk to you. I have made plans, and you're going to have to know them sooner or later."
My aunt pleaded, though her face showed no playfulness."Listen,"
I start."No, you listen,"
My aunt put her hand on the door so I couldn't couldn't close it.
"You are being very, very childish. This is not like you. Now I understand this is very hard on you. But dear, no one said life was going to be easy. Believe me, this isn't only hard on you either. It hurts me inside knowing you and I are going to have to go through such a drastic change. It's time for you to be mature, and listen to me. So, you need to, well you need to suck it up and deal with it."Robin panted, a wild look in her eye.
I start start at this, not believing the words she had just heard.
I clearly think it over, eventually give up, and let her inside."Now then,"
Aunt Robin began, sitting down."I have no other choice, Autumn, than to leave here. You were right. My job apparently was not a good one. I never had enough money to pay for the house or the groceries we had. Now my brother is kind enough to let me stay with him, and we should be very thankful for that. I have talked to my
coworker,"I put my head in my hands.
".. I have talked to my coworker and I have spoke very fondly of you, and she seemed so pleased with how I talked of you, that she is more than happy to take you in. Her name is Anna. Anna Bennet. She of course has gone bankrupt too, but she had another job she used to work at near here that is gladly talking her back, and she is actually able to support her son."
I look up at this.
Robin smiles and resumes,
"His name is Nathan. He turned 16 six months ago. Anna said she will talk to him about it tonight. He's quite a quirky little fellow, I have heard. Quiet, sometimes awkward. But sweet, Autumn. Very caring. He definitely sounds like a nice boy."
I roll my eyes, but felt an eager curiosity slowly rising inside.
"It won't be so bad at all, Autumn. I promise you, it won't. Now I won't be here to watch over you, and you will be in Anna's care, so you would have to leave your little apartment. We don't want to have to worry about you.
Anna is doing a major favor for us here, so you will have to treat her with respect. And her son. We can't have you burning bridges. Autumn. And we both know how much you like to do that."
Robin rolls her eyes.
"Please understand me, Autumn. Be responsible here, and understand me. I'm only doing what is best for you. For both of us. I will come back to get you as soon as I possibly can. As soon as I get enough money. It shouldn't be more than a year."
Tears begin to fill my aunt's eyes."I love you, Autumn. You know this is my only choice."
I nod.
"I'm sorry for being so childish, aunt Robin. I understand now. I will really, really hate this. But I guess I don't really have a choice either."
