Autumn is 16"Look what I've got!"
Nathan runs through the door, yelling in a singing voice.
It was 5:00pm, and he had just come inside, holding a small card in the air."What is it?"
I ask curiously."My intermediates!"
He screams."Good for you."
I say, monotone."Darn right it is!"
He says, and throws the card at me.
It lamely hit me, bouncing right off my dark hair.
I let out a sigh, and sit down at the table."Mom!"
He yells, running all around the house at lightspeed for five minutes, until he stops in the dining room, panting."Where is she?"
He asks through pants."She isn't home yet."
I say, holding back a laugh, looking at my nails. He looks at me totally betrayed, like I had killed a family member or something of the same degree.
"Oh yeah? Well,"
He seemed awfully stumped on what he wanted to say next."You look terrible today."
His sad comeback finally escapes his mouth."You don't usually make fun of people, do you?"
I say, sarcastically. He rolls his eyes, and walks away to his room.
Sometimes I wondered if we'd ever get along. This wasn't just everyday sarcasm, or disguised flirting, this was rudeness, no doubt. It always took a chip out of my happiness, out of the little confidence I had in me. But he didn't seem to care. Nor would he care if he knew how he made me feel. He might even try to hurt me more. The usual boy..."Oh, and If there's a knock at the door, it's my friends. Don't answer it, you'll embarrass me."
Nathan peaks half of his body out the door and yells to me.I sigh, and when he was gone, let myself collapse, and the sadness take over me like shadows at sundown.
Soon enough, a knock did appear at the door. And I didn't go to answer it.
Nathan didn't appear to answer it, and I didn't go answer it, so they just waited and waited, and waited. I eventually got fed up with the annoying sound, so I went to answer it.There at the door were three tall teenagers;
William, a tall black one, with blond in his hair, and a young man with light brown hair and sharp blue eyes.As soon as I opened the door, I say,
"Nathan is in his room."
And point to the direction past my back with my thumb."Well, who do we have here?"
The black one chuckles."That's Autumn, the one I told you guys about."
William sighed, looking tired of them already."Oh."
The blue-eyed one said stupidly."So, Autumn, this is Nick,"
He points to the black one,
"And this is Matt."
He points to the one with light brown hair.
"And I'm William."
He laughs and smiles sweetly.I chuckle, and walk away, and the boys walk in behind me.
Nathan walks out as soon as I walk past."What did I say?"
I looks at me sternly.
