"Hey (Y/N) you look a bit down... is something wrong?" Noya asks me.
"Yeah, actually something is wrong... how are we going to live in a new place? And where are we even going?!?!? No one has clarified anything for me yet!" I respond.
I can feel my face heat up as I realize I have just yelled this in a public restaurant. Why do I have to be so stupid!?!? Couldn't I have just said 'No' and waited until later to ask!?!?? Gosh! Why did I do th- My thinking was cut off by Noya's words.
"(Y/N) isn't the only one in the dark here! Where are we even going and why have we not been informed? Do you understand how hard it's going to be for the both of us to just get up and leave to just go to an entirely new place! Mom! You're not even looking at me! You're just like him! You don't care about me! You don't care about anyone!" Noya exclaims. I grab his arm in attempts to stop him or at least make him lower his voice. Everyone in the restaurant was staring wide eyed at Noya's breakdown.
At that moment, one very defining thing happened...
Noya's mother reached across the table a slapped Noya. Tears were sliding down her cheeks waiting to fall as they reached her jaw. "Don't you EVER say that again!" She said as she walked out of the restaurant. My mother sat there amazed by everything that had just happened.
"Mother! Where are we going to live!?" I asked her. Silence still flooding the room.
"Mam' I'm going to have to ask for you all to leave. We can't have your family in here making all this noise. Our other customers are trying to eat and enjoy there day." A woman who appeared to be the owner of the restaurant told my mother after tapping her on the shoulder.
My mother takes her leave after placing money on the table to pay for our food. Noya and I slowly follow.
In the parking lot we were greeted by Noya's, still upset, mother. "Would you like to trade cars and you can drive alone (Noya's Mother's Name)?" My mom asked her. She just nodded her head 'yes' in response. My mother got in the car Noya's mother was previously driving. Me and Noya stood in the parking lot for just a minute as we realized I still had a tight grip on his forearm. A slight blush crept to each of our faces as I let go. We hop into the car my mom is sitting in. She starts the engine and we once again set out upon our unknown destination.
The ride was completely silent this time. No words, no laughs. Silent. After about 2 more hours, mom stopped at a large house. Is this our destination? Is this my new home? "Sweety, welcome home! You should really thank Noya's mother for this wonderful home. After all, half of it was payed for with part of (Noya's Father's Name) abundant stash of alcohol money. Best of all, Noya will still be living next door!" Mother exclaims.
"Wait really!?!" Noya and I yell at the same time.
"Yeah, but none of this would be possible without your mother, Nishinoya. You really do need to apologize." Mother responded
"I will! But what school will we be attending?"
"The two of you will now be attending.....
