JUST KIDDING!
When I woke up, I was in a sandy field, with a splitting headache. There was a smoking crater just in front of, smelling like burnt tires and rust. I looked around, spotting Reya, Phara and Leo, all lying unconscious at random places around the field.
I ran over to them, checking their pulse and breathing. Thank the gods they were fine, if not a bit roughed up. I sat on a rock, wondering what the heck happened and where we were. When they woke up, I asked Phara if she knew where in the world we were. Phara pointed at a giant rock, some few hundred meters away and asked if it looked familiar.
"It kinda looks like the Big Rock, but it can't be. There's no water around and this place is way too barren to be our town."
"Yeah well, I think your question shouldn't be WHERE are we, but rather WHEN are we. You can see a beach about a mile away from here. The water should probably rise up in the future, making the Big Rock stuck in the water, and also our village."
" So you mean that machine was a time machine. Something only experimented with in theory, and has no evidence that it actually exists. Also, it's old."
"Well I guess so."
"So I kinda sorta maybe screwed us over. Very much."
"Yup."
"Hey guys, there is something you might want to see over here!" Leo shouted from near the Big Rock. We rushed over there to see what he was talking about, and we saw, well, I wasn't sure what we saw. In the distance, we could see, smoke and below that, a giant reptilian thing.
"Jace, if and when we get out of this alive, I'm going to kill you." Was the only thing Phara said.
"Duly noted."
